Drive is up to my expectations. Quiet. Stylish. The bundled software could be a bit more flexible, let say I would like to save backup time by skipping system directories, but it wastes this time on the first run only, not a big deal. Overall - it is definitely worth the money paid.

This drive works great and is fast, but they skimped when on the cabling. The power cable is about 5 ft. The data cable is < 2 ft and the cable housing must be slim. Many USB cables have a "block" stop on the square plug and these cannot be used as the drive recepticle is too recessed to allow it. So from where you plug this guy in, your pc must be within 4-5 ft. Thats all you get. I advise to buy a longer usb cable with a slim end.

I have hooked it up to XP and to Ubuntu. Data transfer rate seems about right for USB. It's quiet. Would buy another if I needed another Terrabyte of space.

I have no complaints with the drive performance. I bought it to hold my back-up files and it does that well. My only problem is the power switch is a push button rather than a toggle. This means that when you power off the computer and power it on again, the drive does not power up unless you remember to push the power button. I have gone to great lengths to have everythig turn off and on by powering my computer on or off. This is inconvenient for me, it may not be for you.

This drive is small, quick and very quiet. Aside from the short cord (which can be replaced) it is about perfect. Very good transfer times backing up files. I bought two, and am glad I did, as the price has gone up a little. Still a great value at the current pricing.

After reading reviews for a lot of other external drives, I decided to go with this one (one with hardly any reviews) for a couple of reasons. First being the price (got it on sale), and second being the 3 year warranty (most externals in this price range are a year or less). Shipping was fast and packaged well. I've been using the device for about a week now, non-stop and it has performed to my expectations. Pros: Simple design, not to flashy. Does not get hot (maybe a little warm, but that's to be expected). Plug and play worked great. Quiet, more than I expected. Solid, nice metal casing, built to last. It is FAT32, but I like that because I am hooking this up to a PS3 which isn't compatable with NTFS. I also like that you turn it on and off with a power button. Note...I did not use the inculded software for backing things up. Cons: Hardly anything, the included USB cord is a little short.
