U3 is what you need - my niece brought an infected file from the public library to my home computer. She gets on every computer she spots, and her unprotected flash drive gave the bug to three other machines before we stopped her. Now all the kids in our extended family have U3 drives with McAfee and Thunderbird on them. It is true that there are portable applications for regular falsh drives, but the U3 interface makes certain that all preferences, cookies, passwords, and so on, are stored back on the device. Transfer speed is not what it could be, but this is a special application anyway - you ought not try to back up you system to one of these. Try this if you use other people's machines.

This is my first flash drive, and I'm liking the idea of having a small portable storage which also can act as separate workspace to run programs off of. However, it comes quickly to realise that 1GB of storage is not that much. One thing I noticed though, the picture on the site is different from than the package/unit that I received; no big deal.

this is very good product... this comes with self load software.. and main thing is i can scan any drive with McAfee anti-virus which comes with this drive.... cool......

This swift, user friendly flash drive does everything it's intended to do. The drive I recieved came with a pre-loaded U3 program (took up a small amount of memory space) that allows you to do several tasks such as manage files (delete/add things), security settings, etc. It also gives you the option to visit Verbatim's site and download/install usefull programs such as open office (some programs are free, the rest are trial offers with option to buy). This comes with the usual strap that goes around your neck and a pretty blue loading light. It also comes with eight preloaded softwares, easy to remove if they aren't needed. Very slim and portable. I still have yet to find that McAfee software...lifetime warranty is all good.

Other things aside, this USB drive is so small that I'd carry it everywhere. The storage is not huge but big enough for daily use. The built in software makes it safe and easy to use. I simply love it!

This is a great product. It was easy to set up, takes 2 AAA batteries regular or rechargable. They include rechargeable batteries and a miniUSB retractable cord that is used for charging. I wish I had 2!

I plugged it in and my computer recognized it immediately. I liked the Mcafee antivirus that came with it. I have scanned the usb drive and my hard drives several times and found no viruses. I use it for some working Microsoft Word and Excel files and it works very well with both; much faster than cd's. It can also be password protected which is a great feature. I recently upgraded to Windows XP X64 edition and I have had no problems using this drive with it. It is a little expensive unless you can get it with the rebate.

Easy plug and play device for the cost (after rebate). Am using it more as a drag and drop storage device. Effective space for use: 948mb. rest used by U3 and overhead. It does not work on Win 98. Tech support said there are NO drivers for Win 98. If you plan to use it on a Win 98 machine, do NOT buy this drive. The manufacturer doesn't supply drivers for Win 98. it is little thicker and wider than some other flash drives, so connection to USB port may be an issue if there are other USB devices in close proximity. (((*** you may get Generic USB drivers for Win 98 on the internet by searching for - "Installing USB Mass Storage Devices on Windows 98" in the msn search engine. These drivers have done wonderfully for my 2 other USB generic no brand name Flash drives. Problem comes in the connection between the USB port and the Drive. it is hit or miss, and for Verbatim Store n go, it was a miss. (The USB 2.0 type A connector of this device does not fit properly into a USB 1.0 port, but it fits very well in a USB 2.0 port))).

This jumpdrive is a excellent and the bungee cord with clip is a great addition because you can carry it all over and when need to use it all you do is detach and plug in your usb drive. I love it!~!!!!!
