3 of 5 Sonic Foundry Video Factory worked much better Sunday, June 08, 2008

First, let me say that I purchased this as an upgrade from my old Video Factory Software (by Sonic Foundry) as it appears Sony has purchased them. Well, the good news is, it is similar to Video Factory, the bad news is, it is full of software bugs.
Some of my main complaints about Vegas Movie Studio are the difficulty of use (as already mentioned), the inability to save an Mpeg-2 version of your video in WideScreen (that was annoying!), and the occasional lock-ups. Other than that, I actually find the software better than most I have used. The DVD architect toasted a couple of my DVDs but I believe that was a compatability issue. It does seem to work nicely WHEN it works. Was this review helpful?

I had been using Pinnacle Studio 10.5 but it was much too flakey. I read some writeups on this Vegas Movie Studio and
it appeared to look good. When I tried it I found it very complicated and very un-user friendly. The manual sucked.
I don't know who this was designed for but it sure didn't work for me.
