The second season of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES finds Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley, Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and the cohabitants of Mystic Falls facing an ancient and terrible evil in Katherine, who hopes to unleash the world's oldest and bloodthirsty vampires in an attempt to destroy Elena once and for all. Meanwhile, vampires aren't the only source of supernatural chaos roaming the woods of Mystic Falls -- werewolves are making a comeback, as well.
