I returned mine the same day I got it.
The touch screen has a mind of its own. It some times works, other times doesn't respond.
I don't know why the pen stylus is provided with it, you can't attach it anywhere.
Most of all, I'm surprised that Buy.com is selling such a cheap product from their site.
And then they charged 15% restocking fees. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 JUNK ... STAY CLEAR Wednesday, June 24, 2009 A Customer from OFallon, IL
Absolutely no way to sync music using any program such as Windows Media player so that v-touch can organize songs via Album, Artist, and etc. Songs will show up as individual long file name if drag and drop to AUDIO folder. It is impossible to scroll through 500 songs one at a time while touch screen does not always respond even after calibrate. Tech support is worthless. Took 5 days to respond to the initial email with a question. The manual is quite useless. No phone support. I am not looking for IPOD caliber but just basic feature to organize music like most basic MP3 player can do today Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Ripoff; description inaccurate and incomplete Wednesday, June 24, 2009 Chuckdom from Wisconsin
Bought this to use as a sub for an iPod. The memory chip is not accessible by the music program. It's almost impossible to use without the stylus, and the tip of the stylus wears out quickly. The owner's manual does not address how to use the insertable chip, nor which programs it is intended for. Correspondence says it is just for pictures or videos. Why offer a feature, then not tell how to use it?
Save up the money, and give this one a pass. Was this review helpful?

Overall a decent player for the price. Touch screen and picture quality were good. I didnt like the fact that you couldnt go to the next song without going back to main menu and the no place to store the stylus. Also, cant setup playlist. This device just didnt do what I needed it to do. Was this review helpful?
1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Terrific gadget Tuesday, June 23, 2009 A Customer from Fort Collins, CO
For its price, this device is terrific. It's true it has some limitations, but one has to be realistic. It may not be an iPod, but then again, it costs only one third as much. Things work as advertised, and many of the complaints of other reviewers are the product of gullibility (How on earth did you expect for this device to play DRM-maimed tracks? By magic?) or laziness (Adjusting the volume is trivial - once you read the manual.) It is true that the on/off switch can be a bit quirky, that the on-screen keys are sometimes sluggish, and that the battery can't be replaced. Those who were expecting iPod quality at one third of the price should try and develop their critical thinking capabilities. Was this review helpful?

I am one of those unhappy consumers who bought this product. Its shockingly annoying to see its "touch-screen" feature being lost and you need to perform few steps which might take minutes to get back to working. Videos files doesn't play. I tried AVI, WMA etc files and nothing works. It says "output error" No idea what that means.....over all I am very unhappy and will return this product in a day or two..... Was this review helpful?

I purchased this MP3 Player on sale from Buy recently. For the Purchase, I am very happy with buy.com. They are great.
This player, unfortunately, is not.
The transfer rate when importing songs from my PC to this device is excruciatingly slow. I'm talking 150-300 kbps. (USB 1.0 = 12Mbps and USB 2.0 = 480Mbps)
To make it worse I can only transfer 1 album at a time, since you cannot copy folders into the audio portion of the MP3 player... individual songs only.
The Volume control is not user-friendly, and the the touch screen is ummm, "thouchy" at best...
Do NOT buy this MP3 Player. Was this review helpful?

Over all it is a good product, But you should not even think about camera and video recording because those worst, other than than that product is good, reasonable touch screen, video clarity is good. It is worth for the price but forget about camera and video recording(even worst than VGA camera). Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 DISAPPOINTING--DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY Thursday, June 18, 2009 Disappointed Customer from State College, PA
The media player supposedly plays MP4, AVI, and 3GP video formats, but I've tried all three multiple times without success. The touch screen is incredibly unresponsive. It doesn't power off after 10 minutes like the description says it should, and the battery life is much shorter than advertised. I wrote to Visual Land (the manufacturer) for help, but they didn't reply after a long time. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Its perfect! Wednesday, June 17, 2009 Kyle from Reno, Nevada
The v-touch does what it is supposed to do. The only thing is that I can't figure out how to put movies on it. The instruction guide is useless! It doesnt tell you how to put movies on it. Overall everything works. I recommend this product if its under $100. It is not worth $250. Was this review helpful?
3 of 4 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Will not do as claimed to do. Monday, June 08, 2009 Ron from Wichita KS
In the description it states that it will play WMA files. What it doesnt tell you is WMA files protected with digital rights will not work because the players do not have DRM. I found this out after the 14 days after purchase. It took tech support 3 days to respond to tell me that. So if you want to download and listen to audio books dont buy this unit. It is also very slow in response to the touch screen. You cannot tell when the unit is turned off. The next time you use it the battery is dead. For a cheap mp3 player it is ok, but dont think this is anything close to the i-touch. Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 Good player and storage, but suffers from poor des Friday, May 22, 2009 Karen from Wilmington, DE
Not a bad little gadget, but it suffers badly from the lack of a place on the unit to store the often-used stylus. Also, the on-off button is quirky - you have to hold it for ten, sometimes fifteen seconds to make sure the unit has turned off. Volume control is a multiple step process, and you need the stylus to do it, unless you have teeny tiny fingers. The camera has a mind of its own, and works when it wants to. I've given the device to my teenage niece, who remarked on the laggy touchscreen, but otherwise loves it for its massive storage capacity. If you've got the patience, go for it. Otherwise, don't. It works, yes, but not as expected. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 No Frills media device Monday, May 18, 2009 Jim B from CT
Once you get used to the V-Touch it's a nice little device. I like it because it's portable, has good sound (headphones), has a lot of storage and capabilities for recording pictures and video. The touch screen is useable without the stylus - smaller hands are better than big meaty hands.
Cons: Need to use MP3 files with all of the information filled in for the player to be able to sort the songs. The same info with WMA files doesn't work.
You can't stop a song then turn off the player - it has to return to the main menu before it will turn off and it doesn't resume play when you turn it on.
The user manual is useless.
The camera requires a lot of light to get a decent picture.
Overall, it does the job and it hundreds less than an iPod. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 great gift for music lovers Monday, May 18, 2009 marie from Philadelphia, PA
brought this player for a great price. easy to use, but the problem is with the sound. although its small, the sound system is not so loud. it a good mp3/mp4 player, but it you want better and louder sound system without using your earphone, then I would not recommend, plus the music transfer files take alot of work...but overall I love it!!! 3 of 5 Kind of Okay for the Money Sunday, May 17, 2009 A Customer from Southern California
I have one major complaint about this unit....the on/off button. You need to hold the button in the on position until the screem lights up and you are never quite sure you've turned it off. Twice I thought I had turned the unit off only to see it light up again on its own. It does seem to go thru all the paces it claims it can do. I've tried the radio and the camera and ran the demo. Incidentally, I couldn't turn off the demo or the unit while the demo was playing. I finally turned it to radio and then was able to turn it off. Like I said, everything seems to work but in a kind of qwirky fashion. It will take some getting used to. I guess its worth what I paid but not by much. The tiny manual that comes with it is almost useless. This unit is good for someone who has a lot of patience. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for price Sunday, May 17, 2009 A Customer from Irving, TX
I bought this on thanks giving. It works great, but it says that it can store 8gb but I can only load 4gb of videos. Little bit disappointed but as compare to price with Ipod, its still great product. Can take pictures, record videos and many things. Was this review helpful?

I have enjoyed my player and the only problem is controlling the volume when you are playing your music. It says touch the icon but it only works with the radio. I still enjoy what I got it was well worth the price I paid. The camera is tricky haven't got that down yet. It is light and very nice to stick in a pocket. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Gets the job done Sunday, May 17, 2009 A Customer from Cleveland, Ohio
Great product for the price, I got it to have music while I workout not for any of the other app's. The only downside is if you have a ton of songs on it you cant skip from the top of your list to the middle or bottom of the list, you have to go one by one Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good product for the money you pay Sunday, May 17, 2009 Amit from Durham, NC
Don't compare this with iPod, no where it's close to what iPod has to offer but at the same time it's 1/3rd of the price you pay for iPod.
In terms of ease of use, I will give least points otherwise sound quality is too good. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent product! I just love it! Sunday, May 17, 2009 A Customer from Pittsford, NY
Excellent product! I just love it! The screen is very beautiful, with bright colors and easy to use. I don't use for long periods during the day so I don't have problems with the battery lifetime. I highly reccomend this product! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for price Sunday, May 17, 2009 LAE from Chicago, IL
You get a load of functions on this device compared to more costly items. I like the ideal that you can add more memory if needed. Great display of video (be sure to record in the right format or the mouth will not match the sounds) The size is perfect to fit in the palm of your hands and still have a nice size screen ratio to view. For the money, it is a great deal. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Worth the buy (It's 8GB + Camera!!) Saturday, May 16, 2009 Frankie J. from Memphis, Tennessee
I would like to say(or write) that I enjoy this product greatly and that I only have a few complaints. First, the lowest volume on the MP3 is a "tad" to loud. Second, sometimes the touch screen is very difficult to navigate without you fingure nail or a pen. Third, the buttons used to navigate are loud and clunky. Forth, the plastic material that covers the miniSD slot comes out far to easy. Last, the 2MP camera could use some more features to help with different lighting and zooming capabilities. Overall, I am very pleased with the look, quality, battery life and performance of this product and will happily recommend this product...As long as you are not paying $90+ for this product, then it far exceeds its value. 2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Glad I got mine! Friday, May 01, 2009 A Customer from Watauga, TX
I saw these on one of Buy.com's emails they send me. It intrigued me so I did a little research and acted as quickly as I could to buy them. The price, $61.99, was more than fair for what this little marvel does.
First the cons: The interface is a little slow to react at times which leads to clicking too many times. I feel once I get used to the unit this will not be an issue.
The menus are intuitive, but take a bit of trial and error. Play with it a while and you will get the hang of it.
The on off button should be a set switch not a spring loaded that you have to hold till it prompts you that it is shutting down.
The Pros: I have just played around for a little bit with it, but have found it to be very easy to use. I tried a song directly from itunes (m4a format) and just dragged and dropped it to the device. It played without a hitch. The plus here is that I can combine my wifes iTunes library with mine and play it as I want.
Next I have a iPod video converter and took a movie and converted it to the avi format. It loses a little luster in the transition, but looked great on the screen. I did not notice the lips moving before the words as noted in other reviews. A feature not really mentioned is the fast forward capability. If you hold the "+" button you can go 2X or 4X speed and possibly faster. (as I said, I have only played around a bit)
The voice recorder is not great but not bad. You get a low backround noise in the recording, but the voices are recognizable and it picks up pretty well for an "add-on" feature. The format it stores in is wav. My wife is going to love this feature. It will also record as long as you have memory left. With 8GB that could be a while.
Hopefully you picked one up at the special price, but still worth a little extra for the features. I could say more, but want to go play. If Buy.com were to offer them at the same price again, I would probably pick up two more. Please bring them and the original price back! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 Good value, very poor battery life Tuesday, April 28, 2009 A Customer from Evanston, IL
It's a good product for the price, but the battery life is just terrible. The charge drains out pretty quick, so you have to charge the device daily prior to use. I use it just for about hour and a half in a day, but yet the charge drains out the next day. The touch screen leaves a lot to desire for.
I hope v-touch improves on this product - has great potential. Was this review helpful?

Pros: has an AM/FM tuner radio, has a number of gadgets to play with (camera, radio, games, etc), light weight, touch screen.
Cons: powers down after radio has been on for 15 minutes or so, method to adjust volume is a two step process and you NEED to look at the screen to adjust, touch screen is ok. Was this review helpful?

great product, froze once because we tapped the screen way too many times before the screen had time to catch up, otherwise, great! very, very lightweight slimmer than my new Behold! no major issues w/ transferring videos like my PSP, touch screen has half second delay but this little pmp is powerful, esp w/ expandable slot & other useful features --EBooks & Audio files rock! don't like the playlists from itunes import doesn't recognize and group multiple audio from same singer/band, puts all singer/band info in title on a scroll menu, no sweat, for the price it's a steal, buying 3 more for family for Christmas! The product I bought from BUY.COM is a fantastic product. The shipping was real fast and the cost was excellant. I have bought several things from BUY and everything has been wonderful, except for one item. And the people at BUY took care of my problem and made it a present experience. With all the experience I have had with BUY good and one bad. I have made BUY the major company I buy from to this date. I would not hesitate in telling anyone that BUY is the best place to buy.
Thank You

1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 A lot of storage for the money Monday, March 16, 2009 AJ from Chebanse, IL
The one thing that attracted me to the V-Touch was the amount of storage you get for the money. 8GB is plenty for me. Sure, more memory will hold more music, but I have ~500 songs (192kbps or better), as well as ~50 pictures and two 1 hr videos on there now and am only using 2.4GB. If I put any more music on there I'm just going to start getting frustrated with trying to find what I want to listen to. --
The only complaint I have is the lack of detailed instructions. E.G. The shuffle feature doesn't work on mine unless you select Music>Genres>All. I just figured that out a few days ago. It would have been nice to know that a while ago. --
The camera is OK. You need a lot of light to get a decent picture. It's great to have for a quick snap shot, but when you're indoors with low light the picture looks grainy. Same with the video. --
The PC Camera is actually pretty good. It works better than the LabTech one I bought for $25. I just wish there was an easy way to mount it to get it to stand up. --
The FM player only works when headphones are plugged in. The reception is pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. --
The only other drawback I've found is the sound delay in the video. I have 2 episodes of "House" (the MP4 Converter works very well) and you see the actors' mouths move before you hear the words. Kinda reminds you of a dubbed over Japanese movie. --
Don't get me wrong, for the money this a great player. To me, the ability to watch vids, record vids and take pictures are added pluses, not the reasons I bought the V-Touch. The music player was my only concern and I'm very, very happy with that. I would most certainly buy it again. Was this review helpful?

The package is slick with a touch screen user interface similar to the new Apple iPod offerings.
It takes some getting used to. Navigation is tricky not very user friendly.
The major drawback to using this player is the lack of p;ay list software. You can load your music in using folders but when you play the songs they will simply play as if there were no folders. However you can use the file function to navigate to a folder and play the songs within it. The bad news is that the player will stop after all the songs are played and you have to navigate to a new folder.
There are some things you can do to overcome this limitation.
Get hold of an Mp3 TAG editor and edit mp3 file tags to group your files into albums. Change Album and track entries to group the songs the way you want them to play. This way you can select Albums from the play menu and pick the group you want to play.
The FM Radio is poor, ignore it.
Volume control is tricky.
Overall the value is excellent with 8G of storage for songs.

Volume level needs more increments for adjustment; goes from inaudible to too loud (for quiet areas) with no steps on between. Volume is difficult to adjust. FM receiver can be set for area (Europe, Japan, America); when set for America, the display still says, "Japan". Some controls seem backword. This thing is not worth the money Was this review helpful?

It is proved to ba a cheap Chinese toy.
The camera broke down the second day I bought. Only can make a video.

The headset is the worst I have seen, worse than 2rmb's headset($0.3).

I love this reasonably priced touch screen multi-media gadget. It has 8GB built in flash memory plus it has mini SD card slot which even accepted my 8GB micro SDHC card in a mini SD card adaptor. So far I have used it for storing MP3 songs and avi movies. The screen seems little small (it is still larger that 1.8" screens offered by some other media players). The sound quality is quite good and even better with supplied head phones. I have not used the camera, DV, and Radio capabilities of this amazing gadget. Even if those features are not up to par, I probably do not care as I probably will never use those features. For me MP3 and AVI playback are more important.
What I would like to have in next version of this gadget?
1. 3.5" or 4" screen size
2. Micro SDHC card slot instead of Mini SD card slot
3. H.264/AVC MP4 playback capability
4. Accept any play list names
By the way this was my first purchase from Buy.com. The price was right, shipping was free, and I received my unit in 3 days. Way to go Buy.com, I love ya. Was this review helpful?

I gave this to my 12 year old. He and his friends like it. I do because of the price, and his tendency to lose things.

3 of 5 Good substitute for an Ipod touch Monday, February 23, 2009 Archana from Texas
This device is great for people who wish to possess an IPod touch and don't have the money to buy it. It is also the perfect buy for people who are not too tech savvy but know how to drag and drop thro Windows explorer on the computer.
Its just close to the Ipod touch not a replacement.
The cons are :The touch screen in the V touch is much tougher to press and select even with the stylus and there is no slider bar or scroller like the ipod.
The pros are: The sound quality is great and equal like the ipod. It has a decent camera and it has fm radio.
The songs can be directly dragged and dropped into the player thro Windows explorer and needs no special application (a great plus!!) as compared to Ipod where the itunes application is a must!
All in all, its a good product and the perfect bang for the buck!!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 V Touch vs I Pod Thursday, January 29, 2009 A Customer from Cleve., Ohio
The V Touch is a great product for the price, has a lot of features that the Apple I Pod has and even some that it does not, like the cameras, cool feature. If you are not computer savvy it may be difficult to down load videos, but the audio is a breeze. We ordered one for our son and later ordered one for our daughter, they both love them and actually use them a lot. Was this review helpful? Click here to see all 117 reviews
