This is very simple to use. Great for "IT guys." I like that I can plug desktop and laptop IDE hard drives into it. A reminder for those buying that it does not work with SATA hard drives. I plugged in the power cord to the hard drive, attached the data connector to the hard drive and then plugged the USB connector into the computer that I was using to read the info and the drive started spinning up. I have been using XP and Vista and both were able to recognize without installing anything off of the included CD. You just have to wait for windows to finish installing the appropriate drivers and everything works. If you plug the drive in, wait for the drivers to install and the drive looks empty and you know there is information on it, unplug the drive from the computer and try again. Packaging was acceptable and so was the shipping.

Easy to use and light to travel. My XP machine died and I was able to pull the data off the drive to a new Vista box. Data transfer was much faster than I expected.
