Limp Bizkit: Fred Durst, Wes Borland.
In 2005, a Limp Bizkit album was a difficult proposition; rap-metal's fading popularity and the media antics of lead singer Fred Durst made the band seem like a guilty pleasure. That's why THE UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH (PART 1) is such a surprise. Gone are the silly, frat-boy shenanigans and bubble-gum hooks. In their place are dark, political, and super-heavy songs that seem to channel all the group members' disillusionment into one torrential, communal outpouring of angst. "The Priest" consists of a spooky, spoken-word rundown of the world's problems over moody bass and raging full-band dissonance. "The Channel" takes a serpentine stoner-rock riff and grinds it ad infinitum, mirroring the narrator's seemingly endless string of complaints. Only "The Key" brings back a bit of vintage Bizkit by employing an old-school hip-hop funk riff. Even that song, though, deals in pitch-black existentialism. A challenging, emotionally raw, and seriously rocking effort, THE UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH (PART 1) officially re-stakes a claim for Limp Bizkit's credibility.

5 of 5 The Review Monday, June 29, 2009
Aaron from Hillsboro, MO

Due to previous "Results May Vary" Limp Bizkit album, their reviews have plundered, they no longer get the sort of attention they got back when they released "Significant Other" and "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water". But this time around, instead of Mike Smith, the Limp has the original line-up, which includes, Fred Durst, John Otto, Sam Rivers, Wes Borland(Yes Wes), and DJ Lethal. Instead of bashing on certain people and past expereinces, Fred bashes on the world these days, which include The Catholic Church, The Media, etc., which revolve around the 7 song summary of this album. In my opinion this album makes up for "Results May Vary" and has some of the hardest riffs that I have ever heard from Limp Bizkit. But not only the hardest riffs but the most emotionally self-proclaimed calm song I have ever heard by Limp Bizkit called "The Surrender", Fred's lyricism is amazing in this song, and anybody that is going through a rough time with any sort of relationship can listen to this song and most likely relate. If you are a Limp Bizkit fan as I am, you would definitely buy this album. Oh, and the Album Artwork is pretty tight too, thanks to Wes Borland.
