3 of 5 Not their fault, but the tabs spoil the fun Sunday, June 08, 2008 AC from Atlanta GA
Used in a MacBook Pro 2008. I paid around $25 for this filter and I think $15 is a more adequate price for this article. The filter fits the 15.4 MBP screen perfectly. It does what is claims to do (block view from angles). This is particularly important with the new LCD MBP screens, because these wonderful displays can be seen almost perfectly from almost any angle. That is great for showing pictures or other stuff on your screen, but terrible to protect confidential information, or watching movies on a plane (you never know who's going to complain about even a PG-13 movie). My disappointment comes from the way the filter is held. You either "permanently" attach it with double sided transparent stickers, or afix transparent tabs to the sides and bottom of your screen bezel (frame) and slide the filter between the tabs and the screen. Having the filter there permanently is not an option for me. I just need it for flights and occasional customer trips. I can see how the tabs are going to be unacceptable to some people, they can be distracting and definitely don't belong with the MBP looks. I've had them there for two weeks and I now have to make sure the MBP screen locks when I close it, because the tabs make it not fit quite as well as before. I'm thinking I'm going to experiment with different ways to hold the filter in place (only when I need to use it) that are fully removable (rubber bands?, scotch tape?) Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Article dimensions are a problem Saturday, February 09, 2008 A Customer from NJ
They should state the dimensions of this article in addition to its diagonal dimansion. It did not fit my laptop, height was too short. Was this review helpful?
