4 of 5 Great Phone - except on speaker phone Wednesday, May 20, 2009

The Uniden DECT 6.0 WXI2077 Cordless Phone is a very good phone for the money. It's very rugged, waterproof, it looks good, and the menu system is the easiest and most intuitive I've seen on a cordless phone. The only problem with it is when you use the speaker phone, you have to talk directly into the microphone for the other person to hear you, which pretty much defeats the purpose of a speaker phone. Talking with it next to your ear and mouth, it works just fine. If they fix that one problem with the speaker phone, it would be 5 star perfect. Was this review helpful?

People have been complaining when I use the new Uniden Submersible phone that they cannot hear me. If I then pick up a standard corded phone they hear me fine. uniden service had me try another wall cord and move to another outlet, no good. For $10 they sent me another phone (but not another base). The new phone has the same problems so it could be the base - I don't know why they didn't send one of them also. Now I'm waiting for a response to my latest email - I want to send everything back for one that works or for a refund. By the way, I was on hold for a total of 1 hour waiting for customer service to address the problem, I wish that I had had a speaker phone for that wait.
I cannot recommend that you buy this phone unless they fix the problem. I am wondering if it is a design problem with the submersible phone. TBD Was this review helpful?
