Simple Set-up and good voice quality and better than average signal coverage made this purchase a good value compared to other retailers. The handsets are more compact than some comparable models, but that works out great for my teens or others who don't want a clunky handset. Speakerphone and headset functions are good. Better yet is the NiMH battery and it's gauge - less likely to be caught with a run-down handset thanks to longer charges and no memory like NiCad's. The batteries alone are worth the cost of the DCT-648's at this price, and when you add in the answering machine and fact that these are digital cordless units, it was an easy purchase decision.
