| | Professional Reviews | DVD Verdict 7 of 10 "The Undefeated" is a reasonable time-passer and lies somewhere in the middle of the pack of John Wayne's last dozen or so westerns. The plot has a somewhat fresh angle to it and benefits from Wayne and Rock Hudson squaring off against each other. - Barrie Maxwell Chicago Sun-Times 6 of 10 There are good lines of Wayne dialog and good exchanges with Ben Johnson (as the cook) and some scenes in which you can see that even Wayne thinks Gabriel looks ridiculous as an Indian. And these scenes help pass the time and help you forget how wooden and uninteresting Hudson is. Which is pretty wooden and uninteresting indeed. - Roger Ebert
