First of all, please realize that this is not intended to be a work of adult fantasy-fiction, but a work of young adult fantasy-fiction. Don't expect otherwise.
Being a young adult/teen myself, i enjoyed this book immensely and recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre of Xanth, Harry Potter, or Eragon. In fact, I loved this book so much that I did a 10-page book report on it.
There are quite a few people who complain that this book is not up to par with the author's other works, which i have not read, but this is the most original book i have read in a very, very, very long time.
The end of the book does leave some things to be desired, but maybe there will be a sequel. or a movie.
whatever happens, i loved this book, and will forever love it.
