An unassuming Oklahoman who fused the blue-collar ethic of new traditionalist country with an unapologetic pop side that drew on his love of 1970s rockers like Kiss and Billy Joel, Garth Brooks fundamentally changed the sound of mainstream country music in much the same way that Hank Williams had in the 1940s and Patsy Cline had in the 1950s. THE ULTIMATE HITS, a three-disc collection that is the first comprehensive career overview for Brooks, contains all of his most beloved songs in remastered sound, plus four brand-new songs and a bonus DVD containing all of Brooks's music videos. |

5 of 5 Great CD's/DVD....but be careful!!! Wednesday, April 16, 2008 A Listener from BG, Kentucky
This is a great offering from Garth Brooks...the new music is worth the purchase price alone!!! Be careful when buying from buy.com however. The one I got was poorly packaged...and I mean pooorly packed...in a cheap cardboard envelope, not a bubble envelope. There was no protection for the CD case whatsoever and got destroyed in the cardboard envelope. The CD's won't stay in the case....very irritating!!! So lesson learned, think about buying...inspect the shipment carefully and report it immediately!!! Look around BEFORE you buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 THE USUAL GARTH.....FANTASTIC!!! Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Sam from Bowling Green, Kentucky
This set is definitely the best of Garth and is for the casual listener and for the seasoned fan as well. It's nice to have all the best of hits ready and handy in a two CD compilation. Add to this convenience, the bonus DVD and the new songs, and you have an unbeatable bargain!!! Honestly, the new hit "More Than a Memory" is worth buying it alone!!! This new song is the best, most emotional song to come out of Garth's studio in some time.......definitely a winner, the new songs, the CD's, and the DVD, all from a typical Garth Brooks low-priced, high valued offering!!!
