4 of 5 Expensive but worth it??? Friday, November 21, 2008

I bought these "phones" for working out in the health club while listening to my Ipod. I was tired of the crappy headphones that came with the Ipod. I bought some cheap aftermarket phones made by sennheiser and they were essentially the same as the stock Ipod phones. Always falling out of my ears. I heard about Ultimate Ears from the Howard Stern show and decided to plunk down $170.00 for some hi quality phones. There's no mistaking the bass response in these - it's incredible! It sounds like you have a subwoofer in your head! Not in a bad way either. Very clear and accurate mids and highs. It's really amazing how they sound in your ears. They are a little bulky but the wrap-around-the-ear style of wearing keeps them in place, even when doing 8 mph on the treadmill! I've never owned another pair of "high end" headphones so I can't compare them to anything else. The price seems rediculously high for what you get, but quality costs money I guess.
