1 of 5 Poor Tuesday, January 22, 2008 A Customer from Lynchburg, VA
The product was installed and setup according to the installation disk. The sound was choppy and my voice was in and out on both the skype test call and when making regular skype calls. For me the product is useless and will probably set in my closet. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Absolutely the cheapest and worst item Saturday, January 19, 2008 Linear-1 from Phoenix, AZ
This item has terrible sound over IP phone (even though it says it is Sykpe Certified). People can't hear me and the speaker is very tiny and of poor quality. I would have expected much more from US Robotics. I even contacted the Mfr and told them of my problems and they have done nothing yet.
I am going to try and get my money back from Buy.com if US Robotics doesn't respond with more than a "form letter" email.
If this is a bad one and they replace it I will be happy. BUYER BEWARE at this point. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Wednesday, January 16, 2008 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
Do not spend more than $10 to buy this product. It is definitely worth that, but not worth the retail price. I bought 2, and they work great. One came broken, so I opened it up and hot glued the broken on/off button (easier then sending it back). Works great now. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Product If You Can Buy It On Sale Wednesday, January 16, 2008 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I bought one on a Buy.com special sale. It came broken, but for what I paid, it was not worth sending back, so I opened it up, hot glued the broken on/off switch, and it works great. I liked it enough to buy a second one. Product is worth buying as long as you can find it under $25. Over $25, there are better products to use with Skype out there! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Save your money Saturday, January 12, 2008 A Customer from FFX , Va
This speaker phone is not as easy to work with. It keeps shutting down after 5-7 mints of talk. I went back to the old ($4)head set I had. I have been using Skype for the past 3 years, this is the first time I had so much problems with a headset or speakerphone. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Only good for the microphone Friday, January 11, 2008 Sri from St. louis, MO
The speaker is not good, ther is a lot of echoing when you are chatting, it is only worth the microphone. I had to finally use it only as a microphone. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good product Saturday, December 08, 2007 RN from MN
Product was easy to setup,as some reviews say the sound quality of the speaker is not so good at 60% volume level,Mic is very powerfull it catches signals even if you are 2-3 feet away, But overall a very good product,Very usefull for conferencing and chat. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice product Friday, December 07, 2007 A Customer from Chicago, IL
I recently bought this product to replace my headset for making internet call on skype...Very easy to set up if you follow instructions...sound clarity okay..microphone is really good...however when speaker volume is high , there is a slight distortion..also make sure u properly set the microphone level otherwise there will be little echo....But other than that its a really nice buy for the price I paid...10 $. 5 of 5 US ROBOTICS SPEAKER PHONE Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Roswell, Georgia
Excellent quality sound and plenty of volume. Absolutely no voice over feedback with the noise cancelling mike. Installation requires absolute page by page setup as described in manual. Works great after that. Negative: USB cord could be longer. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 WOW...great value! Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Moorpark, CA
The speaker phone works better than expected for the price paid. Easy to install and works seamlessly with Skype. US Robotic did a great job with this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good for the price Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Wakefield, MA
It works well with a Mac (Tested with Mac OS 10.5), and it's fully plug-and-play on Mac.
The volume controls actually control the system's volume, no matter which audio device is selected. That's a nice feature.
However, the mute button is for the mic, not the speaker. It's light changes from a bright blue to red when on mute.
The blue light is a bit bright for a dimly light desk, and I wish it was dimmer.
It comes with its own long USB cable.
It doesn't show on the picture, but next to the USB input, there's a headset output that's stereo. This is a nice feature I did not expect.
The speaker sounds a bit tinny for general audio, although it's good for phone conversations. It needs to be louder
Overall, It's great value for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Conferencing Device Tuesday, November 20, 2007 bhupesh bora from Chicago, IL
This is a excellent device to conference and handsfree communication, but there is a little technical know how necessary to configure it to your system whic hshould be pretty easy, just follow step by step instructions in the manual. Otherwise i am afraid you will not get the desired results.
I WOULD SAY ITS A MUST BUY FOR THOSE ON LONG CONFERENCE CALLS Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic with Skype Friday, November 16, 2007 A Customer from Gaithersburg, Maryland
Agree and works 100+% with the features described. Just plug it with the enclosed USB cable to Sony VIAO laptop USB (or IBM ThinkCentre desktop at work) then WinXP automatically sees it, by turning on a blue light, as C-Media USB Headphone Set. All PC sound come out from the speaker right away clearly. No need to use the Installation CD to make it work with existing Skype. Everything just work!!!
The one mic mute button - when pressed the LED changed to red. Two more buttons can adjust the speaker volume up or down. The sound quality is good for the size of the the unit. Didn't experience noticeable echoes when turn up the volume. It also plays with internet radio nicely.
Lastly, thanks to BUY.COM for offering it with such good price. Just ordered two more to give to my friends and relatives.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
