It performs rather flawlessly. It is better than tying up a line, or subscribing to an online service. If you need to send only a few faxes here and there, online services are costly. But this little gadget you can take along with you, and use a hotel line if you need to. However, if you need to scan something to send, that might not work for you, unless you have a scanner that you can take with you.
I use it at home, so there it performs superbly, right from the scanner or from any document you choose. Most of the online services are not geared for 64 bit yet. So if you HAVE 64 bit (or any other OS), this would work well for you. Easy to hook up. Was this review helpful?

This USR USB fax modem is excellent in every respect. The setup is easy and the quality is outstanding. Modems are becoming more and more ancient, but, if you have to have one for your applications, this one is terrific. Because you will probably be talking to other older modems, it's great to have one that really works with all of the protocols. I used this one for a customer who just got a new laptop with a built-in modem. But, that modem wouldn't communicate properly with all of his customers' modems. Once we installed this USR modem, communication was perfect. Was this review helpful?

OK, let's face it... modems are obsolete for most of us. I bought this one for one of my customers who uses his laptop modem to communicate with store's refrigeration units he services. His built-in laptop modem had trouble communicating with some of the stores (older modems). I immediately suggested USR as "the best". Sure enough, it installed easily and connected perfectly to ALL stores. It's a bit expensive, but clearly worth it. A very good product. Was this review helpful?
