5 of 5 Good Headphones Wednesday, November 12, 2008 Michael from Tracy
Overall these headphones are very good for the price. There are a variety of other gaming headphones (from Turtle Beach as well as other companies) available that are also very good but they are so much more money; the X1's prove you don't need to pay a ton of money to still get great quality. I'm stunned by all of the sounds I completely missed from using only my TV speakers: you can hear people reloading, nearby footsteps, people changing weapons, people using the ladder/fast rope/rappel, etc (I use them mainly for R6V2). This headset has had quite a positive impact on my play, just because I can hear virtually everything and they allow me to focus on the game only, and not the outside world. Definitely worth the purchase. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Pretty Good Monday, November 10, 2008 John from Boston, MA
The headset works really well. The heartpounding bass adds a lot of suspense to FPS games. The cords a a bit of an annoyance. If you don't have the money for a wireless headset the performance is the same and will work just as good as a wireless one. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A must for Late Night Gaming Friday, November 07, 2008 L Knight from CA
This headset plus mic is perfect for the late night Xbox 360 experience. Easy to use, didn't even look at the instructions to plug in, I was able to plug in and play within 4 mins of trying to open the hard to deal with plastic packaging. It was a big change from how I usually play late night. I used to play with just regular headphones, but wouldn't be able to chat with other gamers online. Or, I played with the sound real low while wearing the original headset that comes with. But being able to blast the headset sound through my ears and chat at the same time was a welcome to my ears.
The sound is crisp/clear, I can hear everything I want to, either listen to the other gamers talk or can drone them out through the sound of the game, which is perfect cuz I don't need to hear them all the time. Also, they are very comfortable. I can sit for up to maybe 3 hours without feeling a thing of discomfort because they wrap all the way around both ears.
The cords are way too long though. I thought they were 6 ft not 16 ft, but I guess they were made for those with huge projection screens in a movie theater.
Other than that, the headsets work perfect and are a must for someone looking for a late night or in a non disturb type environment. Was this review helpful?

1 of 5 Great Sounds/Bad Voice chat Saturday, June 21, 2008 A Customer from Miami Fl
The game sounds from this headset are great rich tones and bass, but it overpowers the other players voices and makes it very hard to play W.O.W.Comfort is another issue after about 1hr of playing my ears are very sweaty and very uncomfortable, going to return these and try the Razer - Piranha Stereo Gaming Headset (Model: RZ04-00080100 )hopefully i will have better luck with these. 5 of 5 Great headphones, too many cords Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Devin Night from Columbus, OH
Bought these for my Xbox 360. The quality is outstanding.
They are comfortable and sound great, I hear things I never heard before while playing. The one drawback is the number of cords it takes to make them work with the xbox 360 controller. I have seen their cordless headset and next time I will get those.
But if wireless is not a factor, these are a great value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect for night gaming Monday, July 23, 2007 A Customer from oklahoma city oklahoma
I bought these bc I love playing games loud to really be immersed in the gameplay. That is pretty hard to do at 2am when you live in an apartment complex without making alot of people very angry. I do alot of research before I buy anything and ended up buying these. I talked to alot of people that had the 5.1 gaming headsets and i just heard too many problems with them and not a huge advantage over these. Long story short I love them. I can easily hear someone sneaking up behind me when playing a game of halo 2, or I can play some oblivion and still blare the awesome soundtrack and not disturb anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headset Tuesday, July 17, 2007 A Customer from Pennsylvania
This headset is a great headset. Extremely comfortable to wear, way more comfortable than the Microsoft Xbox 360 Headset. Very easy to setup and get started. Very long cable length in case you need it, and if you don't, the main cable has a nice elastic band to keep it bunched up. This headset focuses more on the game audio instead of the chat. Voices sound like they are being played out of the speakers with slightly better quality. If you looking for just a chat headphone, get the Microsoft Xbox 360 Headset. The sub woofer in these headphones will literally rock your ears. It would be nice to have a switch to turn it on and off. If you want a headset that combines game audio and chat at a great prices, the Turtle Beach X1's are definitely the way to go.
Definitely worth every penny, especially with Buy.com's low price and FREE shipping. Great overall product. Was this review helpful?
