 Editor's Note
Director Uwe Boll may be best known for directing video game adaptations such as ALONE IN THE DARK and BLOODRAYNE, but he goes into far more serious terrain with this Vietnam War action film. TUNNEL RATS follows a group of American soldiers as they venture into an underground tunnel that is inhabited by the Viet Cong. ALIENS star Michael Biehn plays a sergeant, while Nate Parker (THE GREAT DEBATERS) has a role as one of the young soldiers.

Of all the directors seemingly capable of taking on the socially, politically, and personally complex war that is Vietnam, Uwe Boll would be low on the list (perhaps right behind Michael Bay and Shawn Levy). As the master of the disaster, a German filmmaker whose proclivity toward producing absolute garbage (House of the Dead, In the Name of the King, Postal) more than precedes him, one would imagine him tackling the subject as some manner of elaborate joke. Instead, his Tunnel Rats is actually quite effective. 4 of 5 Old Genre, New Flavor Thursday, June 04, 2009 Chris H from Anaheim, CA
Tunnel Rats is one of those car accident movies. It’s maybe too graphic keep your eyes wide open, but you can’t look away. I think it’s a good change in style for movies in the genre. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth a look http://bit.ly/TunnelRats Let me know what you guys think? Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Adds a different flavor to the genre. Wednesday, June 03, 2009 Chris H from Anaheim, CA
For a guy that’s much better at doing video game adaptations than movies, Uwe Boll did something right with his movie Tunnel Rats. I ran across the trailer (http://bit.ly/TunnelRats) and it reminded that I still need to get the dvd which comes out next week I believe. Tell me what you guys think. Was this review helpful?
