How It Works
Simply place your iPod in the TuneView dock and pick up the TuneView remote. The dock and remote communicate with each other via a 2.4 Ghz radio signal that works through walls. The dock queries your iPod each time that information is needed and transmits this data to the remote. With the color LCD screen and the ten keys provided on the remote, you can quickly and easily browse your iPod and control the iPod as if it were in your hands.

I haven't used this product extensively yet. However, it seems to work as it says and better.
The big issues with RF remotes are their distance and the response time. With this remote I have no found distance a problem and there is NO lag between when you hit a button and when the iPod responds. Also having basically the full iPod menu in front of you is awesome. It is also great for slide shows since you can use the remote instead of having to sit next to the device.
I highly recommend this.

Probably my favorite gadget purchase ever. I never purchased one of the ipod remotes that only control forward/back/volume/play/pause, because they are useless if you actually want to change albums or playlists without standing next to the ipod. This remote really turns the ipod into the equivalent of a CD changer with hundreds of discs that you can control from all over the house. No loss of sound quality since the ipod is still connected directly to the stereo. Works with an ipod video/TV configuration too, and you can pause or change videos from the couch. Setup took a couple of seconds, and it has worked almost perfectly -- to be fair, I have experienced a couple of glitches where the remote had trouble syncing with the ipod, but every time this was easily fixed by just taking the ipod out of the dock for a second and then redocking. Also a little pricey, but in my mind worth it. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
