The first disc of this three-disc set is probably the most interesting, kicking off with Roland Alphonso's easy-rolling "Never to Be Mine," and sequencing through 16 other laid-back Jamaican instrumentals, most notably "Back a Yard" by the Deltones, Lee "Scratch" Perry and the Upsetters' version of Bunny Wailer's "Dreamland," and the classic "East of the River Nile" by Augustus Pablo. The second and third discs feature a set of smooth, soulful songs by several fine Jamaican singers, including Junior Byles ("Curley Locks"), Toots Hibbert ("Love Is Gonna Let Me Down," "Daddy"), Alton Ellis ("Rock Steady"), Dominic Johnson ("Summertime"), and Slim Smith ("Closer Together").
