I have a pair of Motorola FRS radios that I tried to use when communicating in the forest between two Polaris Rangers that were traveling, and found them impossible to hear and understand. Not so with the Trisquare TSX-300 that I just purchased. The earpiece communicators make it impossible to miss a call and most of the time in the noisy machines, we can use just the radios without the earpieces. The voice is extremely clear and there is good range even in dense forest for Rangers travelling together, but out of sight. Being digital, there can be no interferrence with FRS or GRMS. I'm very pleased with their performance and am thinking about getting two more. The only negatives are a repeative soft clicking sound in the background as the frequencies hop and a one second delay between key push and actual transmission. Was this review helpful?

The radios work good with distance. However, it does take a couple of seconds for the frequency hopping to put the radios in sync. I use 6 radios for my crew and sometimes 1 or 2 of the radios do not receive my transmition. After a couple of seconds I repeat my transmission and they receive it. I would recommend these radios for recreational activies but not for work where you can't afford to keep repeating yourself to see if the people you call calling receive your transmission.
