4 of 5 Quality Construction Saturday, May 09, 2009 J. R. from Evergreen, CO
Tripp Lite makes solid professional quality equipment using metal parts where many use plastic. Lots of thoughtful features like the phone and coax over voltage protection, voltage display with dimmer, and choice of vertical, horizontal or 2U rack installation. I have not tried the software monitoring yet. I have had the UPS one month and it just quietly does it's job and looks good too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I have twelve of these, still working flawlessly a Monday, December 22, 2008 A Customer from Enumclaw, WA
Purchased twelve of these for my office in December 2006 and they all are still working flawlessly. These are paired up with Apple Mac Pro machines with LCD monitors. We live in an area with notoriously bad power - hardware not on UPS is doomed to fail within a year or so. We use these to clean power, not really to keep the machines up and running for any duration; the machines are connected to the UPS via USB and shut down automatically if the battery drops below 50%. Integrate painlessly with Apple's built-in UPS support (no additional software to install). LCDs are all still clear and bright. Overall these have been MUCH more reliable than the equivalent APC offering, and I am in the process of replacing the APC units with these as they fail. My ONLY complaint is that the power button is kind of finicky (needs to be held down until it beeps before it will turn on or off); a minor quibble. HIGHLY recommended. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Died after 11 months Monday, July 14, 2008 A Customer from North Canton, OH
This unit was only used for an LCD TV. The unit died after only 11 months. The LCD Screen is not working, the battery backup is not working, and the unit continually beeps. I hope Tripp lite will send a new one. The warranty is supposed to be for two years. Was this review helpful?

The unit was great when the LCD screen was working. Saved me during a thunderstorm. However, now the LCD is broken and there is no way for me to tell if the UPS portion is still working. Of course I could yank out the power and see. Didn't last one year. I wouldn't buy this unit again since there are so many other units to try. I have an APC that is six years old (no LCD) that is still working good, so I might go back if they have an affordable unit with a smooth sine wave output. Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Good Value Monday, July 02, 2007 A Customer from New Jersey
Great unit, small in size, LCD screen is great (but bright). Had it two weeks and then I had a power outage for 15 minutes. Worked fine. Only issue I have with it is that the batteries are not user-replaceable. If this unit lasts 4-6 years then no big deal. Just buy another. Otherwise I would want a unit that can switch batteries so that I can keep it 10 years, assuming the surge/spike component doesn't wear down over time. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This is a great product Saturday, December 23, 2006 A Customer from Duncan AZ.
This is a great product, does every thing the description claims, the only trouble I had was the soft wear would not recognize the UPS when I hooked the USB connector threw a USB - PCI Card, I had to use one of my mother board USB ports, and then every thing worked. Buy.com gave me a great Christmas price, just wish I had bought two. Was this review helpful?
