When choreographer Alvin Ailey passed away on December 1, 1989, the dance world lost one of its true innovators. Through a number of unique works interspersed with commentary from Judith Jamison, the woman who took over as the artistic director, the dance company explores human relationships through a number of pieces moving in tribute to its visionary founder.
