5 of 5 Easy to install and the range coverage rocks Friday, May 15, 2009 A Customer from Marinette, WI
This product is far superior to my wireless B & G Linksys. Wireless N is cool because you can pair a device live which makes for some nifty security. The price was also a winner through buy.com Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A Real Value Saturday, April 18, 2009 Mike C from Jackson, MI
Bought this unit to try out Wireless N before investing big (also am considering buying a new netbook with 2.4ghz wireless N ... ASUS 1000HE). I added it to a Buffalo MIMO Airstation that I was quite happy with. The setup was incredibly easy (5 minutes max). I paired it with a Trendnet Wireless N 621 card. It works well. The range hasn't really increased significantly but the throughput increased from 54mps to 130mps. I bought both items on sale from Buy.com (so paid about 50 bucks for both). I am quite happy and now am shopping for that new netbook! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Trendnet - Wireless N Upgrader Monday, March 16, 2009 Susan Q from Tampa, FL
I am happy with this new addition to my home network. I recently upgraded my laptop computer which had wireless N capabilities. I had had some connectivity issues in parts of my home and had thought I would have to upgrade everything. The Trendnet upgrade has not only solved my problem but was simple to install and relatively inexpensive. I now get FULL coverage in all parts of my home and would expect that I would be able to connect outside as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value for Money Monday, March 09, 2009 RATickle from Cedar Grove, NJ
This little box does exactly what it says. It's an inexpensive way to add Wireless-N to your existing network. However, I could not achieve the claimed speed and range improvements over Wireless-G. The indicated connection speed is 300 Mbps, but the measured speed improvement I saw over Wireless-G was only about twice. Can't say I saw any real improvement in range.
Part of the speed problem may be because the wired port is only 100 Mbps, not Gigabit. However, a direct wired 100 Mbps connection is still 10 times faster than the Wireless-N. Also, this would be a much better box if it contained a 4-port switch. I'd be willing to pay additional for that feature.
This box is still only "Draft-N". Hopefully, the "Real-N" will actually produce the claimed speed and range improvements over Wireless-G.

5 of 5 Great Wireless N Access Point Tuesday, March 03, 2009 shaywood from Portland, Or
This items works just as described. I had attempted to add a wireless N Router to my exisiting network, but the two routers would not work together. Then, I tried this access point. Works great! Easy setup. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect Product Friday, February 13, 2009 Trendnet from MD
Initially I ordered a 638AP and found defective and then got this TEW-637AP. Very easy setup, already I have a n wireless router but wanted to extend the coverage. You can add multiple AP's with the same SSID, but please make sure to change the channels so that they won't overlap each other, you can also use the same security settings. Now my laptop locks on to the 637AP at 144mbps since there is a limitation using Intel 4965 chip set. The connection is solid and signal strength is at 99%. Just type in 192.168.10.100 on the web browser and get into the menu to make changes, no need to use the cd. One note is that when you see Radio off, it is actually on. Trendnet kudos to you. Buy.com when they mean 3-5 days they really mean it, the unit did not get shipped until 5 days after the order was placed. Was this review helpful?

I am overall quite satisfied with this product. It was easy to set up right out of the box and was no trouble to get working. I only have 2 issues with the product that keep me from rating it a "5"; the first is that, as the prduct states it is "up to 300 Mbps" and I have never got it anywhere close to that speed. The best I have ever gotten it to perform is at about 150 Mbps, and it is only about 15 feet from the base station to my notebook.
Secondly, I keep my notebook in sleep mode when not in use; often I have to reboot it to get the unit to run at the higher speed again. I average about 140 Mbps most days; which is acceptable for me, but maybe makes it slightly overpriced for that level of performance. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy SetUp Indeed! Sunday, April 20, 2008 Alan from Seattle Washington
I usually stick with LinkSys wireless and modem equipment because it works well together and has good downloadable setup instructions, but their power booster options were not good, so I took a chance with this. Setup took less than fifteen minutes, it worked on all three laptops I have around the house on wireless, and had no problem connecting through my
WPA encryption. I just loaded the code that I got through the LinkSys analytics and we were on our way. Much faster througput than with 802.11g, and I didn't have to throw away good equipment! Was this review helpful?
