1 of 5 Error code 39 Thursday, February 07, 2008 seacare@hotmail.com from stn mtn, ga
Like the other guy who wrote his review, I to got a code 39 when installing the driver. Would Not Work in XP or Vista. Called Customer noservice and first unseatted (if that's a word) and reset it into the pci slot. Still didn't work. tried a different known good PCI slot and agian would not work. I'm trying to work with customer noservice but have been on hold a while. I've used other trendnet devices but this one just doesn't work. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 very difficult Sunday, January 27, 2008 David from Garner, NC
I bought 2 of these to go with a D-Link wireless-N router. The D-Link was a breeze to set up but the Trendnet cards have been a real pain. From the reviews I've read I was aware I was taking a chance but I have a high knowledge of computers so I was not too afraid to take the chance. If I had only knew just how much of a pain this was going to be I would have gladly paid the extra money for another brand probably D-Link. The first one took me about four hours and countless tries before it was ever recognized by the computer. The second one I'm still working on and it doesn't look very good. I went to their website just now and while there checked on the status of my rebates. They say I purchased outside of the time frame when I did not. I sent them all requested info. I'm no dummy, I know I did it right as I've done this so many times before. I know that sometimes companies will give you a hard time with rebates as I'm sure they would like for you to give up so they will not have to pay you. Looks like this is one of them. Right now I'm really angry and I'm not allowed to say what I'd like to about this product and the company itself. I can though advise you to not buy it and buy one from another company that will offer you a better product. Sometimes you just have to spend the extra money. Like the old saying "you get what you pay for" so true. Was this review helpful?

I bought two of these cards but I should have read other site reviews before trying to install one in my Dell. It blew my power supply. After I fixed that, I couldn't get the card to work with XP. The drivers would not load. Windows error code 39. I tried the CD that came with it and then I uninstalled and tried an updated set from Trendnet's site. No luck.
Trendnet's tech support has been useless.
I have installed dozens of various wireless adapters before. This is the most frustration I have ever experienced. I'm send them back to buy.com.

The Trendnet Wireless N-Draft TEW-623PI PCI & PC Apapters are great products. It uped my Netowrk throughput to 300Mbps for 100 Mbps with wired ethernet when coupled with TrendNet's TEW-631BRP Router.
However, while the included manual explains exactly how to install the hardware, it doesn't address the setup at all. The electronis User Manual is no better.
I ended up calling TrendNet and they explained how to set the adapters up. Was this review helpful?
