5 of 5 Well worth the $$$ Tuesday, April 15, 2008 A Customer from Columbus, IN
Paid $9.99 after rebate (which did come) and it is well worth twice this amount. Very reliable fast connection, and good range even with only one antenna. Small footprint, and the unit stays cool and malfunction free. Included CD setup was poor IMO, so I manually configured the router... Very easy.
Never heard of this brand before purchase, was a little leery, but after almost 6 months all is well and if it died today it was worth the cost. Was this review helpful?

(1) Got the item the day after it was ordered (free shipping options) (Dont pay for the expedited shipping. It would have shipped via ups or fedex and reached in 3 days).
(2) What a price: 47.99 - 30 MIR - 10 google checkout = 7.99.
(3) Install and setup was easy. I dont know why some people complain about setup. Just follow the instructions in the easy install CD. It also tells you what to do when the Internet service provider modem has same IP as the router. If you dont setup correctly it will not work when the two have similar IP.
(4) No problem at all - setup wireless, wired, security in minutes.
5. Some improvement can be made in the user interface for the configuration. I say this because I have used many different kinds/brands of routers.

This being my first experience with wireless, I have nothing to compare with. Non-the-less my experience was very good. The unit was fairly easy to install and set up, I just followed my "Wizzard". The unit works well with some limits on distance. I can get connection from one end of my house to the other and that's going through a concrete block wall. A rebate was offered, which I have applied for but not yet received, which will make the cost factor very affordable. If this unit continues to perform as it currently does, I would reccomend it to anyone. Was this review helpful?

Good router once you get it setup correctly.
I was receiving many IP conflicts. I called support and after being on hold 15 min someone answered the phone asking to take a message and call back. They never did. I called the next day and the same story. Although this time I told them I already left a message. They then placed me on hold for 2 min and the man was very helpful. Be basically had to change the router IP and protocol to PPPoe for it to work with AT&T DSL with a Motorolla modem.
Since then I have only had 1 disconnection and it's working great. The firmware was last updated early 2007. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 It does the job Saturday, March 01, 2008 Bill from St. Peters, MO
I ordered it to replace a Linksys router that had given up the ghost. It was very easy to install, but I had to do some searching of the website help to find out how to set up the security. It was easy enough to do, but the instruction manual left a bit to be desired in that regard. So far, it's working fine around the house. Was this review helpful?

The product arrived at our place the very next day of ordering... The set up took less than 5 mins in all and it was up at the first attempt.. Have been working just fine ever since. The set up and security settings are so easy. In all amazing performance and for the price of it... a product real worth!!! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 we will see how good the warranty is... Sunday, February 24, 2008 A Customer from King George, VA
This looks like it would be a great deal for a WiFi-G router, and the wireless part worked very smoothly and quicker than my old B WAP. However the link lights for the 4 ethernet ports showed connectivity, but nothing was recognized: desktops nor network printer. So I am back to my old B router and I get to see how good TRENDnet's warranty policy is. Hopefully, I just happen to get the bad apple of the lot. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good router for a good price Sunday, February 24, 2008 A Customer from Stafford Va

I had a bad experience with this router. The configuration wasn't intuitive AND it DIED after just 1 day. My advice is to spend a bit more and get one of the better ones (which is exactly what I did after junking this one). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great Tuesday, February 19, 2008 A Customer from Encinitas California
Great price, I bought 2 of them. The first was a replacement for an existing dead router and the second was for a new network. The setup program was a little confusing with non-responsive buttons. It wasnt clear to me how to set up security from the install program. Going into router directly via the IP address from the browser allowed me to set up the SSPID and type of security I wanted. I had my 12 year old daughter setup the second one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great for the price Monday, February 18, 2008 A Customer from Alpharetta, GA
I bought this router because I wanted a 802.11g router and this was the cheapest one available. But, it turned out to be a really good one. It works great. Yes, it doesn't have some of the features that advanced users may want, but, most people don't care about them. I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Better Than Expected Monday, February 18, 2008 Kevin from Vermillion, SD
For the money I was amazed at its ease of setup and it's wireless range. Security was a snap as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome!! Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from cambridge, mn
Easy set up, unbeatable price, excellent security. Hooked up to PS3 with ease, doesn't slow down the service and hasn't kicked me off at all. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 GREAT PRODUCT! Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from COLUMBIA FALLS, MONTANA
THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT WITH ALL THE FEATURES I WAS LOOKING FOR. I READ SOME REVIEWS SAYING THAT IT WAS RATHER HARD TO SET UP, IFOUND IT TO BE EASY. IT TOOK ME LONGER TO GET MY CABLES ORGANIZED THAN IT DID TO SET IT UP. FROM THE TIME I UNPACKED IT, TO THE TIME IT WAS UP AND RUNNING, WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I WOULD TELL ANYONE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT IF THEY WERE IN THE MARKET FOR A NICE EASY HOME SETUP! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Very Good Deal Friday, February 15, 2008 Hannah from Virginia
I believe it was one of the best deal I could find on the internet. Also the arrival of the shipping was very quick so was pretty pleased with it.
The Router itself has few gliches when it comes to trying to pick up the connection from downstairs and the router being upstairs. One has to play around with the firewal settings to get the right connection .
But over all I am pleased with my purchase , couldn;t get anything better than what I purchased. Was this review helpful?

1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Not even worth the $10 I Paid Tuesday, February 12, 2008 A Customer from Moreno Valley, CA
Bought this because I just needed something for occasional use with a Wii and every once in awhile with a laptop at home. So, didn't figure I needed anything special, and this seemed like a good deal with the rebate. It does not even hold a consistent connection through the WIRED connection to my computer, and barely makes limited connections with the Wii. TRENDnet has not been responsive at ALL. (And, yes, I updated the firmware.) Unless you just need an inconsistent signal, and don't mind rebooting your router 5 times to get it, do NOT buy. Was this review helpful?
0 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 it was a good DEAL, but... Tuesday, February 12, 2008 Arney from New Haven, CT
I bought this router because it was a good deal. No, a great deal. So I was naturally skeptical. The skepticism paid off. I have an XP Home system - no bells & whistles - and the router took a day to hook up. I had to contact 3 different tech support reps when the standard installation wizard failed. They finally gave up & suggested I call my ISP tech support, which is never a good thing. I had visions of third world lies & deception. Instead I actually got a competent rep from the Philippines who walked me through several different configurations until "we" hit on the right one (bridged mode). It took me from the middle of the afternoon straight through to 8AM the next day, but now it's working...with intermittent glitches. The instructions you find here at buy.com are extremely helpful, so print them all out if you're going to tackle installation for the first time. But if you purchase this router, expect complications before ultimate satisfaction (remember: 'bridged mode'). Was this review helpful?
0 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Good Deal, though only 1 WAN port Friday, February 08, 2008 Jay from Tucson
Good Price. Though I've read some bad news about their rebate, it's still good value without rebate.
The router works fine so far. Never have a problem of disconnected and reconnected repeatly problem so far. Although it should be the basic requirement for a router, my previous D-Link one always have that problem. The one thing surprises me is that there's only 1 wireless. Usually the routers have 4 LAN + 4 WLAN.... but it's ok for me but maybe not good for others. Was this review helpful? |
