5 of 5 Good buy for the money Sunday, April 13, 2008 A Customer from Manchester, TN
Can't beat the price! I had no trouble setting it up. It does everything I wanted in a router. (That's to be able to connect the laptop from any room in the house. Probably 50 ft.) Was this review helpful?

Be sure to follow the instructions for setting up this router carefully. I had to reboot twice before the router started working properly. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value Monday, March 17, 2008 A Customer from South Carolina
Overall, the wireless router works very well once I got it going. I didn't like the software that came with it, but was much easier to set up through Windows.
WARNING: I didn't know that my 2.4Ghz phone actually BLOCKS the wifi signal. Tech support was helpful in getting the channel switched.
I've been using it off and on for a couple weeks now. Was this review helpful?
1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Great buy! Monday, March 17, 2008 Gary from La Grange, CA
I have to laugh when I read those reviewers complaining about this product. Most of those reporting problems are incompetent, having no idea what is wrong, let alone how to troubleshoot WiFi problems to the peripheral level! Make no mistake, this router is a GREAT buy, especially considering the rebate! One nice feature is the removable antenna and SMA connector. I replaced the standard 2db dipole with a $15 external 6db hi gain antenna and the range coverage is awesome! I purchased both this router and TRENDnet's previous 3406TX model, and would consider them good buys even without the rebates (which I received, BTW). Both units exceed expectations, especially when you consider price/performance. Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 Cheap but not reliable Thursday, March 13, 2008 Patrick from Roswell GA
I have a Linksys WRT54GL that was having problems connecting to my Comcast cable modem. I bought the cheap Trendnet to see if that would solve the problem. It did not which confirmed to me that it was a Comcast problem.
I did get the Trendnet to work but I noticed that my notebook would drop the wireless connection every other day. It did reconnect automatically but my current web sessions would be interrupted. I also noticed that my VPN connection to my office server would not stay up for more than 10 mins.
I therefore went back to my Linksys router and will use the Trendnet for my office since we don't really need a wireless router there as all our PCs in the office are wired.

4 of 5 You should have a try if you are geeky enough Tuesday, March 11, 2008 soupy from Cape Cod
1) I bought this router for $30 with $20 factory rebate, which makes it $10. Before purchasing I read reviews and one of them saying TRENDnet has a bad fame on processing rebates. So I give 4 stars for the value in case I will face trouble with rebate.
2)I dont think the installation CD is of any use. If you want to follow its installation step you need to make sure internet access is available, which is totally UNNECESSARY. Since both this router and my high-speed internet service are new. And stupid comcast use MAC address to identify your usage machine and I happened to hook my ibook first into the service and the router installation CD doesnt go with Mac OS at all (but the wired and wireless connection do). I had to take a geeky way to make things worked.
3)I connected my windows laptop(Mac also works here) to router with a cord and keyed in the intra net IP address (which is printed on installation CD cover) into address bar of web-browser(IE or firefox, etc.) and hit the Enter key. Then I got to the web-administration interface, log in the system with user/passwd info on CD cover again. Now you can do whatever you want to set your router and discard the dumb installation CD.
4)If you happen to use comcast service too and one of your machine has already connected to internet thru modem, theoretically, it wont identify your router. Dont worry, just write down the Mac address of the identified network adapter and clone it to the router (there is an option on web-administration interface). Now your router can be camouflaged as that identified machine. 5)So far it works fine with both of my windows and apple computers. I can see disconnected from gtalk sometimes, but since comcast is not a good service carrier(heard from on-line game players), I cant say the DC is caused by router or comcast.
I hope I can get rebate back without trouble.

5 of 5 Greate router for any price Monday, March 10, 2008 A Customer from Benicia, CA
Purchased this router to replace my old one when the DHCP server stopped working. Not only was the price great, but the signal strength is much better than my old one. Selected free shipping and had the router in three days. I've had no problems setting it up or adding new devices to the wireless network. This router is a great buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great deal, good product Monday, March 10, 2008 A Customer from Rhinelander Wisconsin
This was the first time I set up a wireless network. I had it out of the box and setup in less than half an hour. It was very simple to set up. The only problem was that the instructions did not tell me that an SSID could not have spaces in it. This created a problem when I wanted to connect to the unit, but that was resolved within half an hour. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 TEW432BRP router low price, medium install Sunday, March 09, 2008 beretvas@gmail.com from Draper, UT
My previous router died, bought this because of low price, but has not received refund yet. Installation was not dead simple. Called customer service (they have not returned call until 3 days later!) Eventually figured out installation without help from them.
Router has worked fine, but occasionally (for unknown reason), wireless speed dropped from 54 Mbps to as low as 11 Mbps.
Had product for about 2 weeks, if I get the refund, then it can be considered a good buy, UNLESS it goes bad.
Buy.com shipped product very fast. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Deal Thursday, March 06, 2008 A Customer from Eddie F. SLC, UT
I was skeptical when I saw the price of this unit compared to the others, and slightly worried after reading one of the reviews. But my experience has been quick & easy installation. And the unit works great so far, now I'm just waiting for my mail in rebate. I am a complete beginner in the wireless arena, so I also bought an adaptor antenna for my desktop which is completely un-neccecary. The unit comes w/an patch cord to run to the desk top and... the laptop goes where ever I want now! (in the house) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic product Wednesday, March 05, 2008 Abhi from Northridge, CA

Overall a fantastic product for this price. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Cannot access secured websites through this router Monday, February 25, 2008 A Customer from San Francisco, CA
It was great router when it worked but after a couple of months, my first TEW-432BRP stopped letting me access to any secured websites with Windows XP. I purchased my second one and continue to experience the same problem. No problem with my Vista computer but both of my Windows XP computers do not work. I troubleshot by using wired connection to go through this router, experienced same problem. When I bypassed the router and connected my computer directly to my DSL model, I had no problem. I talked to different tech support people from Trendnet (always long wait, most of the time they offer call backs and they always called back at the wrong time :) and their second tier technician confirmed that it is a known issue on these routers and they suggested for me to upgrade to the latest firmware. The first time after firmware upgrade it seemed to work so I was so happy. However, after hanging up with the technician, the same problem happens again.
The bottom line is I cannot access to any of my email accounts, nor access to any other accounts that needs password to logon. At this point, I think I had wasted enough of my time so I am going to throw them out and buy another brand. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy installation and works well Monday, February 25, 2008 A Customer from Rolline Meadows, IL
Ease of use is 4 because the authentication page is kinda hard to get to. But overall it takes less than 30 minutes to install. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great! Sunday, February 24, 2008 Bob F from Clearwater, Florida
This unit replaces a Linksys that bit the dust. It has better range, does not lock up, is smaller and faster.
Couldn't be happier. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 a good buy Sunday, February 24, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
I used it for 6 computers (three wired and three wireless). It appears that the signal stregnth is slightly lower than the Linksys routers (when I put the router upstairs and tried to get the wireless signals downstairs). Overall, for the price I paid it is a good buy. I am still using it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Product, Great Price! Saturday, February 16, 2008 A Customer from GA
After looking all over, I finally found a really inexpensive router. Quick delivery even with standard shipping and easy setup (only takes 10-15 minutes). Customer service was good for me. The first time I called they said it would be a 30-min wait. I hung up and called back and was able to speak with someone immediately. I would recommend this product! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Super Router Great Price Thursday, February 14, 2008 A Customer from Fremont, CA
This router is so easy to set up. I just put the CD in and followed the directions. 10 minutes later I was up and running. Good steady wireless connection. It took me a little bit to figure out how to set a pass code for the security setting but once I tried it I got it the first time. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a wireless system.

5 of 5 Good router that's a bit of a pain to set up Saturday, February 09, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
The reabate that I got on this router is the best part of the deal. With the reabate this is an awesome value. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the router. It performs as advertized and the signal strength is great (right now I'm sitting 12 yards away with 3 mostly concrete walls complete with cabinets and furniture between the computer and the router, and I'm not even using the long distance mode, getting almost a full strength signal). The only thing is the router was a big pain to set up. It took me days to set all the settings just right. In the end I wasn't even sure what exactly I did that finally worked to let my wireless card connect to the router. Also, the install software put two utilities on the computer that interfered with each other. I had to disable one to let the computer start without errors on startup. Was this review helpful?
8 of 9 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Rebate issue Friday, February 08, 2008 A Customer from austin tx
This is (at best) average gear. The only thing that makes this special is the rebate. You may not get the rebate.
TrendNet has one of the worst records for rebates, usually in bottom-5 (http://www.rebatereportcard.com/). Doesn't matter how careful you are or how much documentation you save. They deny on some pretext, have you re-submit, then wait 2 months to anwswer and terminate your case "because the promotion is over". Won't even accept correspondence. Class-action case at TX Attorney General, Trendnet dropped by Circuit City for rebate abuses, etc etc etc.
Can't happen to careful careful you? Happens to whatever percentage they decide will make a profit (all Trendnet deals are rebates). Nothing in this for me, dude. Go ahead and give it a whirl if you feel lucky. Was this review helpful?

We bought this router after we decided we needed to link our two laptops at a rented ski house. My wife is the techie. She didn't seem to have any trouble getting my remote laptop connected to the Internet. She did spend some time getting me remote access to a new printer, but she did succeed. You can't beat the price. We were able to leave our home system set up in one piece. This will be our travel router!! Was this review helpful?
