3 of 5 simple product...great performance (update) Tuesday, April 08, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Trendnet would not send my rebate, saying that I was missing one of the requirements. The product is still great, but not as great a deal without the rebate. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 simple product...great performance Thursday, March 27, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
This product is very simple to install and use. Just follow the instruction manual, and you'll have the printer server setup in no time. I did not have to deal with customer service at all if that is any benefit. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product... great deal... Monday, March 24, 2008 A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
A word of advice... visit the website of the company and get their installation directions... the set up is not covered well in the information you get. There is one online if you search the tech doc.s at trendwear website... enjoy having your printer always read to go for under $50.00... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best value product, outstanding customer service! Tuesday, March 18, 2008 A Customer from Monroe, NJ
The TRENDnet TE100-P1P took a little effort to set up, but was well worth the price. The sketchy user's manual was more than made up by a very competent help desk expert. Amazingly, these folks are available 24/7 (I called at 10pm on a Saturday), no extra charge, and no hassles in getting some dingbat answering the phone to connect you to someone knowledgeable. After a quick switch of IP address to the proper subnet that fit my particular router, the friendly technician also determined that a problem I had in getting settings to stick related to a necessary firmware upgrade, which he helped me with and got me on-line and printing within 15 minutes. That alone saved me hours of debugging! The product works great on a mixed Mac/PC home network, and is happily interfacing to my old non-postcript HP Laserjet 4L... which I'm accessing through Mac OS X 10.4 via gimp print. Overall... an excellent value for a great product! Was this review helpful?

This is a great product. As usual I had a great shopping experience with Buy.com. Great delivery, great prices. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good item, but I wouldn't pay full price Monday, March 17, 2008 ray@zick.ws from Ann Arbor, MI
Works well. It is a little too tall to fit in my HP 2200D but I think it would fit in most printers. I bought an extension cable and that works fine. The CD that comes with it is useful when configuring the print server and when configuring the computers on your network to print to your network printer. By default the IP address is 192.168.0.1, so if you have a D Link router you will have to connect your PC directly to the print server to change the IP address. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Beware of their Tech Support Thursday, March 13, 2008 D. from Austin, TX
I was anxious to install and use this print server. I am sill having trouble with its functionality. I contacted their 24/7 tech support and was told they would have to call me back. No call back. 2nd call same thing but they called back 4 days later and left a message in the middle of the night. 3rd call problem got pushed to 2nd level support and 3 days later they call back. Very poor support and the problem is still not fixed because they claim they are sending me an email with instructions for the fix and it never arrives. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great Product for the money. Tuesday, March 04, 2008 A Customer from Marlboro, NJ
Got it quickly, but unfortunately the print svr was abit bulky, I have two legacy printers (Lexmark Z42 & HP Laserjet 5L) with the parallel port set into a well-like space - the print server did not fit in the Lexmark at all, but I was able to attach it to the HP, the housing around it was not attached and was flexible. After attaching it - I had no problems getting it to work and being seen by the network. Great product for the price (too bad about port location on the printers). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works in Vista Thursday, February 28, 2008 Hugo from Glendale, AZ
The documentation is very poor. I had to call tech support to get this to work. Tech support was very knowledgeable. I got connected to a live person in less than a minute. I have a Samsung ML1740 and a 2Wire DSL Router. Once configured, it works beautifully. For the price it is a great deal. Was this review helpful?

I had a different experience as compared to another reviewer. I had to call tech support and got it to work with Vista and my Samsung ML-1740. I got to tech support within a minute and they were very knowledgeable. First ensure that the IP address matches your Default gateway subnet. If your gateway is 192.168.1.* you need to change the ip of the printer (which by default is 192.168.0.1). In Vista to add the printer
1. Click Add a printer
2. Add a local printer
3. Create a new port->Standard TCP/IP
4. Hostname: Enter the IP address of the printer. Do not click "Query..." and continue from there.
For the price this is a smoking deal. Documentation sucks. Hwever bottom line is that it works!! Was this review helpful?

I have a new laptop running Vista and an older HP laserjet 4P parrallel port laser printer. I am using a D-Link Dir-655 wireless router and get internet through a cable modem connected to this router. I connected the print server to the router and was able to get it configured and working without too much trouble. I also upgraded the firmware using the laptop connected wirelessly and that worked too. Now I can print to my old laser printer in the other room from my laptop without wires. This was a good deal after the rebate and looks like it is going to work out fine. Was this review helpful?

This is a great price after rebate for print server, BUT there is no any notification in description that this Print Server works just with some model of the printers. After trying to resolve my issue with TRENDnet tech support, we found out that It doesn't work with my Samsung ML-1740. After quick research on the Web , I found a lot of issues about incompatibility of this print server.
Be aware about this print server and make research before buying it. Was this review helpful?

I've used several other Print Servers, but the TrendNet by far was/is the easiest to setup and to configure. It was 1,2,3 and I was done. Was this review helpful?

I have used Trendnet products for many years now, and have found them to be reliable and easy to use. Never had to service them after installation. The manuals sometimes can be difficult to read, but if you take the time to read it carefully and to follow the instructions, you will not go wrong. We have several Trendnet print servers, and will continue to buy them in the future. Was this review helpful?

I hooked up a laser printer for my daughter and her college roommates using this print server. They all have laptops running Windows XP working off a wireless router I installed earlier this fall. The whole process was easy to follow and took less than 20 minutes to set up. Was this review helpful?
