| Author Bio| David Lodge | | David Lodge was born to Wilson Frederick Lodge, a musician, and Rosalie (Murphy) Lodge. He had a middle-class Catholic upbringing in southeast London, then attended University College in London, where he received his B.A. and M.A., and the University of Birmingham, where he received his Ph.D. In 1969 he married Mary Frances Jacob, with whom he had three children. His novel "Changing Places" was awarded the Hawthornden Prize, and in 1980, "Souls and Bodies" won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award. |
