The collection leans heavily on the "new traditionalist" sound, and many of the selections have distinctly rural lyrical themes. The record opens with Travis Tritt's "Modern Day Bonnie And Clyde," a classic-sounding "outlaw" song that wouldn't sound out of place on a '70s Waylon Jennings album. On the other end of the spectrum is the band Rascal Flatts, whose "I'm Movin' On" sounds like a weepy Elton John pop ballad, complete with rolling piano and string section.
