5 of 5 Impressed Saturday, May 02, 2009 Rick from Wichita, Ks.
First, I was impressed with how soon I received my DVD player, I selected the free shipping, which said 7 to 9 business days, and I had it six days later (which included a weekend).
As for the product itself, so far so good, I'm very happy with the quality of the recordings I've made. And I must say, kudos to to Toshiba, for writing a user manual that's both comprehensive and easy to use.
The price was another aspect that I thoroughly enjoyed ($10 cheaper than any store here, and they didn't have the unit in stock to begin with).
I'm happy. Was this review helpful?

I was trying to burn DVDs with my computer. That was okay when I started with digital data files from my camera. However, it always got messed up when trying to record in real time from an analog input - i.e., from my old VHS tapes. I was loaded with technology stuff, and couldn't make a DVD of my old VHS tapes. This baby fits the bill 100%. Only two caveats, and they are nothing to worry about: (1) Although most of my VHS tapes copy fine, I have hit just one with copy protection that prevented the transfer. (2) Be sure the machine is set for the correct inputs for recording. I had manually switched to the front inputs for some work, and forgot to switch back to the rear inputs, and it took me a long time to figure out why I wasn't getting an input signal! Neither one is an "issue" with the machine, which works 100% and every DVD so far (30+) has been compatible with any other DVD player in our household. (And there are a few of them.)
