ColorBurst - Wide color gamut LCD expands the number of available colors and improves the color accuracy. While standard
LCD panels may only reproduce 72% of the NTSC color gamut, ColorBurst utilizes enhanced CCFL back-light
technology to expand the color range to 90%+. This significantly improves both color purity and color saturation, and combined
with superior processing and a superior back-light, creates colors that are vibrant and natural.
PixelPure 3G - PixelPure 3G has a high 14-bit internal digital video processing, for accurate 12-bit output, and is therefore capable of producing an amazing 4,096 levels of gradation for a smooth, natural picture without image banding.
DynaLight Back-Light Control - DynaLight utilizes advanced PixelPure histogram image processing to monitor the brightness level of each video frame, and automatically adjusts the backlight intensity based on the image content. Precise signal analysis allows for 256 levels of backlight control. This creates seamless transitions, and a Dynamic contrast that is up to 5X that of the original panel contrast.
The result is a considerably deeper black level for increased detail and depth. All 2007 REGZA models include DynaLight to create superior lifelike images, even in low light environments.
CineSpeed - CineSpeed LCD panels have the 8ms or faster response speed necessary for cleaner high-action home theater images. A wide viewing angle ensures that youll have the best seat in the house.
New Premium Cabinetry - New gloss black premium cabinetry incorporates the SoundStrip speaker system, for rich sound, from a slim compact design, with only a thin strip of cabinet visible beneath the screen.

I'm not an expert but this TV looks amazing to me. Any HD or pseudo-HD source will knock your socks off. Some analog or basic cable stuff looks junky some times but apparently thats across the board on HD tvs. There's talk of a green color issue but I'm on the fence. Some things seem a little green but some things seem a little red or blue or orange. I think it depends a lot on the source. HD stuff is right on with color. At least on mine. Be sure to look online for a calibration DVD or search a forum or two for calibration settings for optimal viewing. There are also enough inputs and outputs to plug just about anything you need into this thing. However, the PC input limits the screen resolution to 800x600 (which still looks pretty good). I might be awe struck because this is my first HD but I couldn't imagine a TV with so many features for such a great price. Was this review helpful?

This is the 1st LCD that actually comes close to pict quality of a plasma. I researched everything and this was the cheapest place to buy at the time. Dont know if it still is. In addition to having SPLIT SCREEN, a GREAT REMOTE, and very good HD pict, this tv does as good as u can do w/SD. U can actually watch SD channels without hurting your eyes. Im not giving it a perfect score because there is a hint of green banding when viewing SOME SD sources...like an old DVD player. The speakers are nice and hidden and sound good. (though i would like toshiba to bring back their optional subwoofer add-on that they had briefly). Also, in addition to LCDs using less energy then plasmas, this tv also has a powersave option, where it takes 5secs to turn on. u can use that OR go with instant, if u wanna waste energy.
overall, for $1600, u cant find a better 42in lcd. Was this review helpful?
