5 of 5 Great Portable Drive Wednesday, November 28, 2007 David K from San Francisco
I was looking for a large capacity, external drive for music and photos. This drive has filled the bill. It is fast, powered by the usb port (no power cables to hassle with)and has worked great right out of the box. The drive is smaller than a mass market paperback book, super light, and looks great with it's blue operation light and slick black exterior. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Well, it looked good. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 A Customer from Moab, Utah
Just received a defective Toshiba 2.0 External HD from Buy.com. It worked for a day, long enough to upload all the files I wanted to backup. It was easy to set up, at least. I woke the next morning to a clicking sound coming from the drive and it was no longer recognized by the USB port, so I called for warranty support ---will take 2 weeks to replace and ALL DATA IS LOST. This is the opposite of what we need in backup, right? I wonder if there are more defective units out there? Oh, and one more thing as advice to others: The lack of a power supply makes this unit light and portable, but slow and possibly troublesome if you need two USB ports to power it and only have one available. I am hoping for more success with a replacement, but now I am worried about using this unit as the ONLY backup. Frankly, wish I had bought something else at this point. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 great HD Saturday, August 04, 2007 cjf from pittsburgh pa
This is the smallest 200gb HD i could find. It is great. No external power supply needed. Performance is adequate given that it does not have an external power supply Was this review helpful?
