Pros - Cheap, quick satellite signal reception
Cons - Poor battery (need to keep it charged, else, wont work). The windscreen attachment is vacuum based and falls off occasionally.
Overall, a decent buy for the price. Was this review helpful?

I first bought the one without text-to-speech which was still a great deal at $80 (refurbished), but when I saw this one for $130 I returned the first one! The text-to-speech is really necessary espesially at night. The first TomTom without it looked and functioned the same, but without street names being called out it made it difficult in areas where the streets are close together. In one instance the one without text-to-speech told me to make a left turn up a one-way street the wrong way. Further up it announced the left turn was actually several hundred feet ahead, but because it didn't say the street name I could only assume it meant "the second left" and not the actual street I was looking for. This unit has loud, clear sound that you can hear over any highway noise with no problem and couldn't be easier to use. Was this review helpful?

This is the only GPS unit I could find with Text to Speech for under $200. At $130 this is a great unit. The text to speech only works with the computer voice, but it's not a big deal. The directions are about pretty spot on. I really bought this unit for the text to speech feature. Which is great because you don't have to look at the unit. It dictates the street names that are coming up so you don't feel lost when driving down the street. The unit is also not annoying with the "Turn Left" or "Turn Right" prompts. But if you don;t like the reminders it has a great touch screen volume control feature and a menu feature to turn off all the prompts. This unit also locks on to the satellites very quickly. The text to speech is the greatest feature, it allows me to keep my eyes on the road and aware of my position at all times. Overall I like this GPS unit very much, screen size is just right, volume control works well, brightness is good, and it has text to speech. Was this review helpful?
