    1 of 5 I got a lemon Monday, July 06, 2009
    Mitchell21 from Ashland, MA

Apparently I got a refurbished lemon. Out of the box I was told the map was out of date, took 3 phone calls to customer service with significance waits and had to fax material to them to get current map. It worked intermittently, getting various messages cannot use this map, some messages were not in English. Lots of errors, reboots, could not turn it off, several calls to customer service. Would work and then during trip would shut off, battery was fully charged. Agents were very polite and pleasant, but ineffective. When it did work it was very easy to use. In the end I was told by customer service that they could not do anymore for me and return it to place of purchase. So far Buy.com has been good to work with easy to return.

5 of 5 Can't beat the value or the product Saturday, May 16, 2009
    Robert C. Disinger from Maryland
A great product for the money. I purchased the TomTom GPS for my son who is moving to Florida. I wanted him to arrive at his new home safely and be able to find his way around his new community. The unit is like new, operated perfectly right from the box and for the money, you can't go wrong. As always my experience with Buy.Com was flawless. Even with standard shipping it was here in three days. I have bought many items from Buy.Com and will continue to be a customer as they offer great products at reasonable prices.

5 of 5 Excellent product for the money Monday, May 11, 2009
A Customer from San Diego, CA
I bought this for my wife and she has had it for 5 months now. We have been very satisfied with the product. The menu structure is very easy and intuitive to use. In fact I like it better than the built in navi in my 09 TSX (except for the screen size). The only problem I have had is that once in a while the suction cup looses the vacuum over time and the unit falls down.

    5 of 5 Excellent device Saturday, April 11, 2009
    A Customer from Poughkeepsie, NY
This is a fantastic little unit and the price makes it a "must have". The voice commands alerting of an upcoming turn are useful even on roads I am familiar with, especially at night. The touch-screen needs only the lightest touch to activate the menu options which are easy to navigate. Lots of bang for the buck, you can preview your route as text or see it mapped, choose your route for fastest, shortest, walking, or biking. Thumbs up!

The order process, shipping and product were all we could have hoped for. The Refurbished TomTom One, 3rd Edition is an excellent replacement for the Navagon my son uses in his daily work. He reports that is easier to use and gives him accurate routes.

4 of 5 Great GPS system; bad mounting system. Monday, March 09, 2009
    tC from Winston-Salem, NC
I have been really pleased with this GPS system. My only complaint is about the suction cup which is attached to the windshield mount. It is terrible. The cup is not curved enough, so it has trouble sticking to the windsheild and I have to contantly remount the system after it falls.

5 of 5 Easy to use and update online. Saturday, February 28, 2009
SGGray from North Little Rock AR
Spent the weekend driving around Memphis after buying it. Found everything the first time and never got lost. That's what its all about with one of these. Easy to see and hear, instructions were clear. The only problem I had was that I couldn't use the car charge because the end of it had been pinched together and it wouldn't go in the unit. Bought a motorola phone charge and it worked fine.

    5 of 5 Great GPS Tuesday, February 24, 2009
    MG from MA
Works great out of the box. Never used one before and was up and running in about 10 minutes. Can't beat it for the price. One (minor) complaint is that the batter life stinks, but with the car charger it's not an issue.

5 of 5 Easiest to Use Monday, February 23, 2009
    Garry from Atwood TN
I've now purchased three TomToms from Buy that I've given for gifts. They have all been refurbished units and I haven't had any problems with any of them. The best thing is how simple they are to operate and even the technically challenged are up and running in a short period of time.

5 of 5 Awesome GPS which is easy to use Thursday, February 19, 2009
    Raghu Krishnan from Vienna, VA
I had a chance to try this Tom Tom when I was on a trip to Florida from DC and totally loved it. This product is super simple to use and has more features than those other more expensive GPSs. One of the features that I am most impressed by with this GPS is its ability to find you an alternative route. Its super quick in calculating it. I was once stuck because rain water was running across the street and the cops had closed the road off. I asked TomTom to find me an alternate route because there was a road block for about 100ft, and it gave me RouteB. I followed routeB and there was another water block on the road. I asked TomTom to find me an alternate route and I was expecting it to show me the old routeA but it remembered that routeA was also blocked and found me a routeC and took me to my destination! I was so impressed by this feature. You can NEVER get lost or stuck! I strongly recommend this gps over the others. It has a great battery life and the software to update the maps is very very simple to use.

    5 of 5 A Great Value Saturday, February 14, 2009
    C.A. Pedrido from Redmond, WA
This unit does everything I could possibly want from a GPS so why should I pay hundreds for units that do very little else. Extremely impressed with the simplicity of using it and the support offered by TomTom on their website. I don't think that you can get from any other manufacturer the quality and price that one receives from this TomTom One.

    5 of 5 Exactly What I needed! Saturday, February 14, 2009
    Christie from Rockport Maine
We needed a portable GPS to take on a trip and did not want to un-install the one we have at home. Nor did we want to spend a lot of money. This looked just right, and it was perfect. It is easy to hook-up, easy to program, and took us where we asked it to every time!! I see no reason to pay more, as this had all the bells and whistles needed to navigate in unfamiliar territory. We found we could charge it on my husband's phone charger!!

5 of 5 Good product and this is why...Map Share Tuesday, February 10, 2009
A Customer from High Country , NC
I have had this 3rd edition model TomTom since June 08 and have been very happy with it. The map that comes loaded seemed to cover most roads in my area but if it didnt the mapshare feature picked up the slack. It is easy to add more voices and other upgrades through the provided software. It's basic as far as features go but how much can you do while driving anyway? Really you just want this thing to get you from point "A" to "B" which it does extremely well. My Son had a birthday recently and I decided to get him a GPS unit. The Magellan was on sale through Buy.com at the time for under $100 so I figured with text to speech & memory slots it was a better value than the TomTom...Boy was I wrong. My Son hated it because he had used my TomTom and knew right away the map was horrible on the Magellan. It would not even get him back home from 8 miles away because the map was so old. Price to update the Magellan? How about another $79? They offer no user update feature so you are stuck either investing more cash or having it tell you every direction to go except the right one. I had to sell it at a loss and was glad to see the TomTom on sale again on Buy.com. I purchased him one also now we both are happy...Buy one & you will be too.

4 of 5 Good unit for price. Thursday, January 29, 2009
    Tom from Hanover Park. IL
This is a great basic unit for the price of $80. I would recommend to buy a refurbished over the brand new because when you get the same quality then why buy a new one and pay double the money. This GPS is a little slow when you are on the road meaning it would show the intersection 1 or 2 second after you pass that intersection on the interior roads, otherwise its awesome on main roads. Map was not updated but I don't know why so many people complain about having outdated map in their GPS as Tomtom does offer a FREE map update during the first 30 days of use through Tomtom Home. So just install the device on your computer and get the latest map for free!! As simple as that!!

    Jean G. from McArthur, Ohio
I like the security of having the TomTom in the car when traveling. In the Appalachian area where I live, however, it would take me over terrain that I wouldn't normally travel. Overall, it is a great product. Everyone should have one.

Got it during the Black Friday/Monday? adds. Got it turned it on put my address as the home address and put another address it it took my right there. Even when you take side trips, it will tell you to turn around! It was great for the price even though it was one of their refurbished ones.

    3 of 5 battery Sunday, December 14, 2008
    A Customer from g
The battery does not hold the charge well. If going on a trip of any length, be very sure to use the car charger included. Only way to charge it outside the car is with the usb port of the computer, so it could be hard to charge on a trip. It has to be constantly charging, so the walking feature to get around is almost useless.

5 of 5 Great value, fun toy Sunday, December 14, 2008
    A Customer from Centennial, CO
What a great device. I calculates some routes that are not the best, and needed to be updated, but really works well. Seems to be more sensitive to receiving the satellite signals than others I have played with (just my opinion, I did not perform any strict laboratory or comparative testing). For you guys that have a navigator/co-pilot that is always telling you where to go,.. here is one you can turn off!

5 of 5 $80 GPS is well worth it - great GPS Wednesday, December 10, 2008
    A Customer from Lomita, California
For $80, yes it is worth that money. It does give you precise direction where you are going here in Southern California. I wish they come with Wall Charge (AC/DC charger) - currnetly they have only car charger only. Its good thing that I can use my camera charger to charge it with same adapter. With this price, I can't argue more and I love it.

5 of 5 Great Balance between ease of use and functionalit Wednesday, December 10, 2008
    SN from Ames, Iowa
This product was so easy, I never opened the owners manual. I am a guy, but I think not doing that for this product was well warranted. I used a Garmin of around the same value or more, and the only technological advantage that had was their suction cup (which turned out to be an easy fix for the Tom Tom). The frequent updates on turning points was very helpful, especially if one is driving in NY or DC there are many fast turning lanes and roads and Tom Tom gives an idea as to the next turn. The free access to map updates is great. The small size and long battery life makes it great as a hand held for walking too. Satellite connections are also great. A great product especially for the value here.

5 of 5 Great Product Can't Beat the Price Wednesday, December 10, 2008
    A Customer from Georgia
This GPS works like a charm. It's much easier to use then my Garmin. It brings up your frequently used cities. Lets you customize your favorites. It even allows you to up date the maps for free. I wish I had chosen one with a bigger screen but that would have cost more. All in All its a great product.

    5 of 5 Great Gadget Wednesday, December 10, 2008
    Douglas from Franklin, Ohio
While not the most sophisticated GPS unit on the market, this little guy does a great job, is amazingly accurate (it puts me into my favorite parking spot at work repeatedly), useful (introduced me to a number of useful shortcuts I didn't know about), and easy to use (one trip was all it took to become proficient with it). I am especially enamoured with its ability to quickly come up with new routings whenever one turns away from what it planned for you-for example, when an accident closed the road ahead of me, I turned onto a side street and it immediately rerouted us deftly around the accident. Its voice cues are surprisingly accurate and handy. An amazing creation by the folks that created the original palm pilot.

4 of 5 Fine starter or basic GPS: no-frills but works fin Tuesday, December 09, 2008
    Denise from Silver Spring, MD
This is the very first GPS I've ever bought, and now that I know how these things work? I'd like a few more bells and whistles (like an SD card slot to expand memory, and directions that speak street names, "turn left at Smith Street" instead of just "turn left"). Plugging in directions is kind of a pain when driving because you *have* to type stuff in and the point-and-drag map is sometimes oversensitive. But favorite-ing addresses is super-easy and once I had enough favorite addresses I could get around with a few touches of the touchscreen. I haven't had a problem at all with this little unit holding a charge, grabbing the GPS signal (sometimes it takes a few seconds at first though, but that's no big deal). But in a large city where there are many intersections within yards of each other? I would have liked more specific directions. Which I can't upload to this TomTom because it doesn't have the memory for it. But hey, for the price? It works great and is super-portable. When I upgrade in a year or so I'll have no qualms giving this one to a friend.

    5 of 5 Don't Turn Yet Wednesday, December 03, 2008
    Erich from San Diego, CA
I bought this for a gift. I have a different model Tom Tom. The only thing I don't like about mine is it treats each freeway intersection that you are not taking as a new instruction. So rather than know you will be on the I-5 for 50 miles, your next instruction is: don't take the 52 in 4 miles. I'd rather be left alone for 50 miles. I'm not likely to accidentaly exit if I'm not warned to stay left. Other than that, I find the interface very easy and I could drive by the voice only or by the screen only they are each easy to follow on their own - together there is little doubt when to turn or where to go.

5 of 5 great value, great driving tool --3rd edition ONE Tuesday, December 02, 2008
Pete from Delray Beach , FL.
I work in the A/C service field. The unit is a real time saver. It works great to find people's homes for me. So far I have experienced no problems. I uploaded all the new maps from tom tom's site for free. Everything about the unit is working perfect even though it is a refurb. I would highly reccommend this to anyone not wishing to overpay for a GPS. Warranty papers said it is covered for a year.

It's amazing and a must have for everyone... I love the TomTom more than the Garmin C330 that I had. Locks onto the satellite right away vs the Garmin would take 5 min to do this... PLus it is small and easy to carry.

Works great. I like that it changes your course if you take a different route than what it advices. It arrived in a timely fashion.

    4 of 5 Great Value Wednesday, November 12, 2008

I bought this refurbished navigator after using my friends Tom Tom when I visited him in Scottsdale,Arizona. This pocket-sized device is easily transported and accommodates any vehicle. My decision to purchase the device was its voice directions, allowing me to keep my eyes on the road in traffic while navigating unfamiliar roads.

4 of 5 An Amazing Value Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Pros: GPS units with comparable features are often in the $200-250 range. You can update the maps for it online. I took this with me on my recent trip to CO and it worked 100%. A real lifesaver. Cons: The battery seems to die so quickly as to be unusable. I'm not sure if that is because this is a reconditioned unit or not. It still works great when plugged in.

5 of 5 Worth The Cost Tuesday, November 11, 2008

This is my first time buying a GPS, but I really enjoy using it. My family and I travel quite a bit and getting to the destinations on time and correctly is a major plus! I also like being able to enter in my own favorite places and updating the unit is as simple as connecting it to the computer and clicking a couple of buttons. Now I know why the TomTom brand is so highly recommended.

5 of 5 As good as it gets Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I ordered the unit on a Wednesday night picked the free shipping and handling and it was still there on Friday. It works as expected for $50 less than I found it anywhere else. Simply put, so far I haven't gotten lost. I've had it for two weeks and everything works fine. I read other pot on here and would like the correct one or two of them, first if you go into the menu you can view the map and you can zoom out on the zoomed in map, I guess people just need to read directions it was pretty straightforward to me so I still have the manual in its sealed bag.(I think it is sealed, actually I think I threw it away) There have been a few errors on some of the directions but they were on small back roads and if you looked at the screen and didn't just listen to the voice common sense made the proper route easy to follow. (An example on one road it said to make a left and 300 yards make a right. When you made the left you came to a stop sign 50 yards later and this was the end of this road, you could make a right or left but a right was actually a private roadway for a marina and other businesses it wasn't truly a "road" so you had to make a left to actually be on a public road and about 250 yards later you made the first right. Just common sense and paying attention to the screen and your surroundings. It showed the right route on the screen, it just didn't show the service road to the right.)

5 of 5 Excellent value and good support Friday, November 07, 2008
    Moose from Auburn, WA
Very easy to use out of the box. I had very good customer support from Tom Tom. I had a problem while trying to update maps. It ended up having the device formatted while working with customer support. I worked with them and got the latest program and maps and it has worked very well since. Rebate came also. If we didn't get it going they were going to have me send it in. Worked well in Canada also. On a long trip be sure to review the route. It sometimes picks routes that are not what you would expect if you know the area. Overall is very good. Battery life is only 2hrs if you want to use it in walk around mode.

4 of 5 Love this GPS Tuesday, October 21, 2008
    Scott from Spring Hill, FL
As I am a service technician, I have used several GPS's. What got me interested in the tomtom is when I had a PDA with the software on it. I got one of these a while ago for over $150 and love it so much, I ordered this one for my wifr for Christmas. It's very easy to use and has been reasonably accurate considering the area I live in seems to constantly change. That's okay also, because with mapshare you can edit your maps, or download other people's edits. This is a super value at this price.
