What a deal after the rebate it's $60.00. Used it to travel from the OC to Arches NP in Utah, on to Colorado, then to Zion, then back home. It even found a ranch road accurately. The only drawback is that when the audio directions are read, the street names are not included, just 'right turn ahead', 'turn right', so you really have to watch the yardage count down to know exactly which right to take especially when travelling at 80 mph on the highway with exit ramps and freeways splitting and stuff. But for the price I'll get used to it. Was this review helpful?

This GPS is loaded with extras and works wonderfull except for every other time you turn it on it has trouble finding the satelites. I usually have to just turn it off then back on and it finds them OK. The on the fly map changes is the best part. Was this review helpful?

THIS IS MY 2ND GPS SYSTEM. 1ST GARMIN THAT HAD INCOMPLETE MAPS SHOWED ME IN COW PASTURES WHEN IN STRIP MALL. THIS TOM-TOM IS VERY GOOD AT UPDATEING YOUR POSITION AND ALTERNATE ROUTES THAT YOU CHOOSE. SOUND IN OTHER REVIEWS HAVE BEEN A CONCERN BUT I FOUND IT TO BE VERY GOOD EVEN WITH MY MUSIC PLAYING AT NORMAL LEVELS. JUST MAKE SURE THE VOLUME IS TURNED UP ON IT. Was this review helpful?

I have had Garmin units in the past and really like this one much better so far. The mounting system is very compact and the unit is thin and small making it very portable.
My only complaint is that I bought a reconditioned unit which came with an old (2007) map. The new units come with a latest map guarantee. Nowhere in the Buy.com description did it say that reconditioned units cannot have their maps updated for free. Other than that, the reconditioned unit is just like new. Was this review helpful?

Bought a refurb, everything was great..looks like new, easy to download and start using immediately.
Upon joining Tom Tom Home and noticed that the map was not up to date. I found out that is the one thing they dont tell you up front. Apparently you get the map that was installed on the tom tom when it was packaged to sell. They no longer update the map before selling the refurbished units. In my book, refurb's are not "up to the manufacture's standards" if the map is not up to date.
Needless to say, I have last years map and have to pay $80-$120.00 for the newest version. It's your call... Was this review helpful?

I got this GPS for my "technically challenged" wife, who is always getting lost. No more! She loves this thing and will not leave the house withut it. It is very easy to program, & the downloadable voices help personalize the unit. She & I both love it. Was this review helpful?

Love the new design; much smaller and streamlined than the previous versions of this model. The recessed USB charge port is nice. The new mounting suction cup is a huge step up, though it does take some fiddling with to get used to.
The GPS the same basic features in the OS of the device, but I noticed it is quite a bit faster at calculating routes, tracking turns, and the GPS chip picks up more satellites in my area as well.
TomTom finally added a feature that automatically adjusts the day/night map colors & screen brightness based on the time of day.
Overall, nice little unit, great price, and as usual, the OS and menu is really easy to learn, even for non geeks. :-) Was this review helpful?
