This was a great buy! I was shopping for a tripod but did not want to pay cameraphile price. For the amount I could afford, all I found was table-top tripods or big heavy ones.
I took a chance on this Sunpak and it does everything I want. The pan and tilt controls work well, there's a quick release for my camera, and the latches for extending the legs are easy to work but hold firmly when closed. Was this review helpful?

What I was looking for was a tripod which offered a high height to cost ratio, and this one seems to fit my needs pretty well. The build is sturdy, and my camera sits well on it. It may not fit into a medium sized camera bag, but is still small enough to carry around conveniently, when folded. While this may not be the right tripod for semi-professionals and pros, it it a great buy for those who are starting with photography and want a decent tripod without spending much.
