Author Bio
Helen Oxenbury
British author and illustrator Helen Oxenbury began her career as a set designer for theater, television, and film and only turned to illustrating books after the birth of her children. Oxenbury was one of the first author/illustrators to create board books for preschoolers--simple picture books printed on durable cardstock with little or no text. She is also well known for her picture book series about a toddler named Tom and his stuffed toy monkey, Pippo. Oxenbury has won the Kate Greenaway Medal for her illustrations for Edward Lear's THE QUANGLE WANGLE'S HAT and Margaret Mahy's THE DRAGON OF AN ORDINARY FAMILY.
