The results are a dozen songs literally reborn as practically brand new compositions, thanks to the use of some unique arrangements. | | "Livin' On a Prayer" gets basted with ethereal keyboard washes by David Bryan, while Leonard's actress wife, Olivia d'Abo, hops aboard and turns the song into a heartfelt duet. Plugged-in anthem "Keep the Faith" gets a nice twist, as its hard-pounding tempo is cast aside in favor of a subtle and soulful delivery, while Tico Torres' time keeping and the band's overall approach to "Wanted Dead or Alive" make it sound like a LED ZEPPELIN III outtake. Richie Sambora's deft wielding of his acoustic guitar can't be praised enough, particularly on "You Give Love a Bad Name," where his sharp slide playing makes it sound like an offshoot of Eric Clapton's UNPLUGGED version of "Layla." THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT ends up turning what could have been a straightforward moneymaking venture into something special. | | Conceived during the Japanese leg of the BOUNCE tour, THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT went from mere acoustic re-workings of Bon Jovi hits to an entirely restructured approach, aided by producer Patrick Leonard and turned around in a mere 23 days. This cd was very well done, all of the passion, feeling and power that went into the re-crafting of the songs is so amazeing. I had chills from the begining to the end! There is a sence of total peace in thes album. Very well produced and mixed. The changes that have taken place blew me away. Bon Jovi Topped it this time. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 This Left Feels: Oh, So Right! Tuesday, January 20, 2004 tsa_grl from Elk Grove, CA; USA
If you enjoy ANY of Bon Jovi's Albums, you're sure to love their new 'unpluged'-style album, "This Left Feels Right". Including songs like: 'It's My Life', 'Everyday', 'Always', and a live version of 'The Distance'. Bon Jovi has stripped down a whole slew of songs to their basic elements and turned them into an entirely new album that you're bound to enjoy! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Love this Left Turn Monday, November 24, 2003 Dawna from Missouri
When I first heard about Bon Jovi releasing another greatest hits, I was very disappointed, thinking how many times can they do the same old songs, but after listing to it, I LOVED it, every song is like a new song, I just can't stop listing to it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Bon Jovi @ Their Best !!!!!!!! Saturday, November 22, 2003 Christa from Pittston, PA
This Left Feels Right is sensational, the best album by Bon Jovi yet!! Jon's vocals are out of this world & Richie's guitar skills sounded better than ever!! I still can't believe they took 12 of their major hits & literally made them 12, brand new hits. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I Love This "Twist" Tuesday, November 18, 2003 baeselfam from villanova, PA
This Left Feel Right is a great CD. It’s a whole new exploration of familiar ground and old favorites. And I love it. Some songs work better than others, but on the whole it all works for me. It’s a whole new way of looking at the musical core and message of many of our old favorites. It doesn’t replace the old ones such gives a new perspective and in some cases a deeper meaning. “Born to be My Baby” was never one of my favorites of Bon Jovi’s but the new version is awesome and makes me feel the music and the message in a way I never had before. The gritty and sexy version of Bad Medicine gets my mojo going every time. The “stray cat strut” of Bad Name is fun and gets me into the groove every time. I saw Bon Jovi live at the Borgata and the live performance of Bad Name really was a memory maker (watch for that DVD in 2004). Even , “It’s My Life” (which is one of my favorite “singing at the top of my lungs in the car” songs) takes a new meanings and puts me in a different frame of mind than the “first” version. The more I listen to the new CD, the more I hear in it. The harmonies are great. And Jon’s voice (lower in register and grittier in places) goes places that I’ve seldom here it go on a Bon Jovi album (it reminds me more of some of his songs on his solo album). Tico’s drumming is awesome as always but especially fabulous on Wanted Dead or Alive and Bad Name. David Bryan’s piano/keyboard is absolutely magical on some of the cuts bringing out texture and meaning in unexpected places. Go out and buy it and enjoy! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The dreaming sound of peace Tuesday, November 18, 2003 strypounette from France
Here it is the new and so unexpected Bon Jovi album ! ! What a surprise.... Fans will be glad to hear this new and totally remixed sound. We are proud of such a work on Bon Jovi greatest hits because it is different, different from an accoustic performance and it sounds like more mature, it comes from the hearts of the artists and while listening to it you feel good and feel like dreaming of a better life. A special atmosphere is reflected such as a Led Zeppelin one with the wonderful « Wanted dead or alive ». It is not a hard rock album but it worths buying it just to admire and congratulate the band’s huge efforts that have been put in the music itself but also in Jon’s voice. And can you tell me of another rock band that made the same for their own music ?! I think they are the first one and they dared doing it ! Risky ? No ! ! ! They just wanted to do something new and innovate. With this album Bon Jovi show their abilities to play music and how good musicians they are. They must gain respect from the music industry and from whose who criticized them years ago. And with such an album not only they target their millions fans but also whose who do not know them well or that prefer a slower music... New people could be attracted and this means more fans and so more venues and appearances, that’s good for us ! So just get it and judge by yourself ! Nobody can judge through other people thoughts, each one is his own and only master ! But I promise you will not be disappointed ! Great job guys. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Bon Jovi Classics Hit Home With New Flavor Monday, November 17, 2003 Sarah from Vancouver, WA
This Cd is amazing. It is a definite need for any Bon Jovi fan. The album takes some of Bon Jovi's highest chart topping songs -and even some songs that havent been as popular to date, and has made them new again. The re-workings of all of the songs is amazing. Each song has found its own uniqueness again. Even songs you feel you know front to back auprise you.
Jon's vocals on this album are amazing. He brings a new intensity and raw emotion to each track. Fans of David can hear clearly hear his hard work - especially in the beautifully re-worked, now intro-spective ballad - "It's My Life." Richie, once again through this album proves to the world that he is indeed one of the best guitarists in music today. Even picking up other instruments - just for this album!
I find I listen to this album when I need to relax. It’s definitely a must-have.

I have been a hardcore Jovi fan for over 17 years. I love almost every thing they do. This album is a great spin on songs that are forever embedded in my heart. It took me some time to get use to the songs. I like them alot.
I have 2 copies and I would encourge every one to get a copy too!

A new twist by Bon Jovi on old songs. The new arrangements are great. Bad Medicine is in my opinion the best track on the CD. Was this review helpful?
