The music here is performed on violin, viola, cello, and bass; it was arranged by Todd Mark Rubenstein. Included are hits such as "Only Happy When It Rains" and "Stupid Girl," but conspicuously absent are notables like "Vow" or "I Think I'm Paranoid." Instead, this release is fleshed out with minor tracks from Garbage's three studio albums. This might be because, unlike other albums in this series, Garbage's music might not lend itself as successfully to this medium. That said, the material here is passable as polite chamber music, but it lacks any real connection to its source without the vocal bite of Shirley Manson or Butch Vig's slick production. ~ Johnny Loftus | Producer: Todd Mark Rubenstein |
