Author Bio
Bruce Degen
Author and illustrator Bruce Degen is a graduate of Cooper Union and the Pratt Institute. Degen is well known for his collaboration with Joanna Cole on their Magic Schoolbus series, and has also illustrated the works of other authors such as Nancy White Carlstrom, Clyde Robert Bulla, and Jane Yolen.

Joanna Cole is the author of more than 60 fiction and non-fiction books for children. Her most well-known works are those from the "Magic School Bus" series, in which teacher Miss Frizzle and her class learn firsthand about the subject they are studying. Raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Cole has a degree in psychology from the City College of New York. She was working as an elementary school librarian when she wrote her first picture book, COCKROACHES, in 1971.
