"This is the story of an adventure that happened in Narnia and Calormen and the lands between, in the Golden Age when Peter was High King of Narnia and his brother and his two sisters were King and Queens under him..." (from the first line)

This is the story of an adventure that happened in Narnia and Clorman and the lands between, in the Golden Age when Peter was High King in Narnia and his brother and two sisters were King and Queen under him.

Annotation:
Although originally published fifth in the Chronicles of Narnia, this classic children's fantasy actually overlaps in time with THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, when the four Pevensie children ruled as kings and queens in Narnia. Shasta, a boy escaping slavery; Aravis, a young noblewoman avoiding marriage to an old, ugly man; and two Narnian Talking Horses named Bree and Hwin flee across the desert country of Calormen, intending to seek their freedom in the land of Narnia. But as they enter the great Calormene city of Tashbaan, their plans go awry: Shasta is mistaken for a Prince and Aravis discovers a dangerous plot against Narnia and the neighboring country of Archenland.

Author Bio
C. S. Lewis
Clive Staples Lewis was educated in England, attending Oxford in 1917. World War I interrupted his studies and Lewis served in the trenches for two years. In 1919 he returned to Oxford, where he remained until 1954. An atheist, Lewis converted to Christianity in 1929, and spent his life pursuing many interests: his acclaimed Narnia books and a trilogy of space travel novels; books concerning religion; and an academic career in medieval and renaissance literature. In 1955, Lewis moved on to Magdalen College, Cambridge University; in 1956 he married Joy Davidman Gresham, who died in 1960. Lewis survived her by three years.
