For Mma Ramotswe, there is rarely a dull moment, and in her newest round of adventures, the same certainly holds true. One thing above all else is keeping her occupied--her estimable husband has been hinting that he intends to do something special for their adopted daughter.

Annotation:
Precious Ramotswe, the humane and insightful detective of Alexander McCall Smith's beloved and bestselling NO. 1 LADIES DETECTIVE series, returns for an eighth mystery, this one revolving around the mysterious deaths at a local hospital. As always in Smith's fiction the delicate interplay of psychology and culture is masterfully and humorously articulated.

Praise
"The author's subtlety of touch and humane portrayal of figures at all levels of society will continue to win him new readers even as his deepening of the ties binding the main figures will satisfy those who have followed the lady detectives from their first recorded case." 02/26/2007

"[A]s pleasing as a cup of red bush tea." - Tina Jordan 04/20/2007

And anybody, no matter how even-tempered he might be, would have been inclined to raise his voice with such feckless young men. This h
