The boy and the girl are stripped and marooned on a small island for the night. The kids at camp think it is a great joke; it's an old tradition. No harm is intended, but the "goats" don't see it that way. They want to disappear. To disappear completely. And they do, much to everyone's surprise.

While at summer camp, Laura and Howie become the victims of a cruel joke. In an annual tradition, the most unpopular girl at camp and the most unpopular boy are lured, separately, to a deserted island. Once there, they are stripped and abandoned overnight until the others return to row them back across the lake to camp. When Laura and Howie realize what has happened to them, they decide to escape from the island and vow never to return to the camp.
