This powerful novel of ideas and the future of human life itself is written by the bestselling author of The Spiral Dance. Annotation: In the twenty-first century, two diametrically opposed societies show the best and worst of possible futures.
| Praise(unknown) "Slated to be one of the great visionary Utopian novels of the century." - Marion Zimmer Bradley |
| Author Bio| Starhawk was born Miriam Simos. She was a child of the '60s, when, while attending UCLA she hitchhiked, took courses in anthropology, and became interested in witchcraft. She founded a coven in the mid-'70s in San Francisco, and wrote about it in her breakthrough book THE SPIRAL DANCE. She is a prominent figure in goddess-worship, and has helped write films on that topic (THE GODDESS REMEMBERED and THE BURNING TIMES). Starhawk has taught witchcraft, ecofeminism, and goddess spirituality at a collective in San Francisco called Reclaiming. TRUTH OR DARE, a collection of writings on spirituality and politics, shows how she merges a feminist/Wicca theoretical base with a practice of activism and community. |
