In his latest newsbreaking book, bestselling author Gertz reveals how liberal bureaucrats and their allies--including some Republicans--are causing enormous damage to national security and ultimately are leading America to a major war. 30 b&w photos.

Annotation:
Writing prior to the 2008 presidential election, Washington Times reporter Bill Gertz investigates the drastic shifts in political power that occurred since the previous one in 2004. Brimming with exclusive interviews and exhibiting his trademark no-holds-barred technique, this latest work about current affairs details the national security threats posed not abroad, but by what he sees as a network of insidious bureaucrats and U.S. government officials. Gertz asserts that Clinton military appointees put the country at risk, and he criticizes both Republicans--some of whom, he says, have hidden agendas--as well as Democrats, including Senator Barack Obama from Illinois.

Of course, by 2007, NIEs were no longer considered incontrovertibl
