| | Professional Reviews | Into Liquid Sky 10 of 10 In Oblivion, Bethesda has managed to try and offer some aid to those who are not used to complete freedom, but not at the expense of the depth of the game. Oblivion is far more casual friendly and the implementation of the controls really allows for a more enjoyable experience for the gamer...At it's heart, Oblivion is all about role playing. While you have a main quest, you can talk to NPCs, join guilds, search the countryside and pick up just about everything you see. This game allows the player to do a lot of things, and the overall experience offers so much freedom that it may be overwhelming or liberating depending on the player...a deep and enriching role-playing experience. There is a lot to do here and you could feasibly spend hundreds of hours just exploring and performing non-story quests. Games Radar 10 of 10 For as grand as Oblivion is in its scope, it's equally compelling in its execution. Its depth is immediately apparent as you start by creating any character you like, beginning with a race (such as the battle-ready Redguard, the bow-and-arrow expertise of the High Elf, or the innate stealthy traits of the catlike Khajiit). Soon you'll choose a class, be it a warrior, wizard, thief or any custom combination you'd care to conjure...The fourth Elder Scrolls entry is utterly brilliant and should not be missed by any adventure-spirited gamer. It serves notice to the rest of the role-playing world, unabashedly boasting, "Can you top this?" - Ryan McCaffrey

5 of 5 Best RPG I have ever played!! Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Trevor L from Westerville, Ohio
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion entices you, gives you chills, and invites you into its vastly huge empire of Tamriel, more specifically the imperial province of Cyrodiil. I have played this game for countless hours, and I still have so much left to accomplish. The possibilities of character physical traits (forehead, nose, hair, eyes, etc.) and metaphysical traits (speed, intelligence, strength, stealth, etc.) are endless! You truly get lost in the game and quickly find out that the difficulty of the game is very high. You have to train your character from the get-go, and it is very hard to make money the honest way. That's what sets this game apart from the other RPGs though. Pros: Addictive Gameplay, High Level of Difficulty, Variety, Hotkeys, Easy Controls, Interactive World. Cons: Graphics could be better, Slow Loading Speeds. Was this review helpful?
