Georges Perec is best known for his novels A VOID (1969) and LIFE: A USER'S MANUAL (1978). His 1978 work JE ME SOUVIENS consists of memories of his own life as a young man in the '50s. A gifted and innovative writer, and a pivotal figure in the French literary movement known as Oulipo, Perec died prematurely, four days before his 46th birthday.
