| Tenacious D, "The Greatest Band In The World," bow this fall with their eponymous debut album on Epic Records. The spawn of actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, Tenacious D combine grandiose rock and roll cliche with hell-bent-for-leather comic passion to create a stew that motivates their legions of fans to caravan cross-country to see their over-the-top live performances. The duo first came to prominence in their self-titled HBO show 2 years ago, which became an instant cult hit with comedy fans nationwide. They have appeared on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show With David Letterman. The 28-song debut album is produced by hitmaking production duo the Dust Brothers and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is featured extensively on the album on both guitar and drums.

If I had only one word to describe the musical stylings of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, it would be ROCK! These guys spare no expense to rock your f**king socks off. Listening to this CD is the next best thing to actually being the most rock'nest band on Earth, the D! And when they're not rock'n' you, they're wooin' you with their love ballads. Which makes the rock'n' songs all the more rock'ner! Plus they use special production techniques like "Inward Singing" to make this one of the most innovative CD releases of the last year. If you are a fan of laughing, you will not be disappointed with this release. Was this review helpful?
