1 of 5 Will not recognize my WD250gig External drive Monday, June 15, 2009 Hai from Denver, CO
I plugged in the hub with my WD 250gig external HD and it is not recognizing it. It shows up as Removable Device. I plugged in both the black and red USB Cable. It works find with just my mouse plugged in but when I plug in my WD Harddrive, the mouse loses connection.
I also tried just plugging the WD Harddrive and it still does not recognize it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Small and Easy Thursday, June 11, 2009 Fong from San Diego, CA
Device installed quickly under Winows 7 7100/7201. Devices attached to it came up quickly as well. Other than having two USB cables via the y-splitter it's small and convenient. The Red USB is in case you need extra power. I didn't get any documentation with the unit however but that's very minor. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simple, useful little hub... Sunday, May 03, 2009 Bob O'Neal from Suffolk, VA
I needed to add USB ports to a laptop, yet be able to drop it in the bag with other accesssories when traveling. I didn't need to add external USB power (this unit does not have it) for devices I wanted to connect. This small non-powered hub does the job. It takes up very little room and is attractive even. It has a second USB male plug (on a Y-cable) to pick up extra USB power from the laptop if you have need of that. In that mode, it would use two of your USB ports, while adding four. For me, it takes one for a total of five and I use them all at times. Transfer speeds seem to be fine. The ONLY drawback I see is that the ports are aligned close together, two on each side. If you have fat USB devices, like some flashdrives, you may have some problems using all four ports. Other than that, it's a five! Was this review helpful?

I needed a USB hub to add to my home theater system. This unit served my needs perfectly. It is really small but very high style. Much more attractive in person. The only reason that I gave it a 4 in ease of use is if you need powered ports you need to connect it to 2 USB ports in order to get 4 powered ports (not a problem for me).
All in all a great buy. Was this review helpful?
